The Big Quiz is a British entertainment quiz show on ITV hosted by Stephen Mulhern. [1] [2] It started as an annual quiz between soap operas Coronation Street and Emmerdale . [3]

Episode 1 (2011)

The first episode aired on 16 December 2011 with the teams consisting of the casts of Coronation Street : Jennie McAlpine, Malcolm Hebden, Patti Clare and Jack P. Shepherd and Emmerdale : Mark Charnock, Natalie Anderson, Danny Miller and Meg Johnson.

Episode 2 (2012)

The second episode aired on 15 April 2012 with the teams consisting of the cast of the hit comedy Benidorm : Jake Canuso, Crissy Rock, Janine Duvitski and Shelley Longworth and the ITV2 reality show The Only Way is Essex : Joey Essex, Lauren Goodger, James Argent and Gemma Collins.

Episode 3 (2012)

The third episode (The Big Sports Quiz) aired on 26 July 2012 and saw boys and girls battle for who's the best at sport, fronting the teams were 71 Degrees North presenters Charlotte Jackson and Paddy McGuinness and panellists Joe Hart, Kriss Akabusi, Mark Foster, Amy Williams, Karen Pickering and Louise Hazel.

Episode 4 (2016)

A fourth episode of The Big Quiz aired on 1 January 2016. The teams were Coronation Street vs. Emmerdale . Playing for Coronation Street were Michael Le Vell, Brooke Vincent, Sue Cleaver and Jack P. Shepherd. Playing for Emmerdale were Mark Charnock, Charlotte Bellamy, Liam Fox and Samantha Giles were playing. Emmerdale were the victors of the game.

Episode 5 (2017)

A fifth episode of The Big Quiz aired on 6 January 2017. Once again, the teams were Coronation Street vs. Emmerdale and Stephen Mulhern returned to present the episode.

Episode 6 (2018)

A sixth episode of The Big Quiz aired on 5 January 2018. Once again, the teams were Coronation Street vs. Emmerdale and Stephen Mulhern returned to present the episode.

Episode 7 (2018)

A seventh episode of The Big Quiz aired on 21 December 2018. Once again, the teams were Coronation Street vs. Emmerdale and Stephen Mulhern returned to present the episode.

An eighth episode of The Big Quiz aired on 19 December 2019. Once again the teams were Coronation Street vs. Emmerdale and Stephen Mulhern returned to present the episode.

A tenth episode of The Big Quiz aired on 20 December 2021. Once again, the teams were Coronation Street vs. Emmerdale and Stephen Mulhern returned to present the episode. [7]

<i>Dancing on Ice</i> British ice skating competition series

Dancing on Ice is a British television series currently presented by Stephen Mulhern and Holly Willoughby. Former hosts include Phillip Schofield, who hosted from 2006 to 2023, and Christine Bleakley, who hosted in Willoughby's absence from 2012 to 2014. The series features celebrities and their professional partners figure skating in front of a panel of judges. The series, broadcast on ITV, started on 14 January 2006 and initially ended on 9 March 2014.

Dominic Adam Brunt is an English actor, director and producer, best known for portraying the role of Paddy Kirk in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale. For his role as Paddy, Brunt has been nominated in various categories at the British Soap Awards, Inside Soap Awards and the National Television Awards. She is known for her roles as Stella Davenport in the medical drama The Royal from 2005 to 2008 and Alicia Metcalfe in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale from 2010 to 2015. She also played the role of Nessarose in the London production Wicked from May 2009 to March 2010. In 2015, she began appearing on the ITV talk shows This Morning and Loose Women on a recurring basis; Anderson also portrayed the role of Lexi Calder in the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks from 2021 to 2022. In 2021 she played the role of Maryanne Borden in Liam Neeson action thriller “Memory”. In 2023 Anderson took guest roles in “Happy Valley” and “Boiling Point” and appeared on stage at Hull Truck Theatre as Kayla in Anna Jordan’s two hander play “Pop Music.” In 2024 Anderson will play Claire Walker in the Netflix adaptation of Harlan Coben’s thriller “Fool Me Once”.

Paula Lane is an English actress. She is best known for portraying the roles of Kylie Platt in ITV soap opera Coronation Street (2010–2016), and Ella Forster in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale (2024–present).

<i>Text Santa</i> British TV series or programme

Text Santa was a charity initiative set up in 2011 by ITV to support UK-based charities during the Christmas period. The appeal to the public is to donate money mainly via text donation and profits from merchandise. The telethons have been hosted by popular ITV presenters including Phillip Schofield, Christine Bleakley, and Ant & Dec. The 2015 appeal show was the last after ITV decided to axe the show to make way for an all-year appeal.

Kate Oates is a British television producer, who was born in Nottingham and graduated from Warwick University. She began her career working as a researcher and editorial assistant for Germaine Greer, before becoming a script editor for the soap opera Crossroads. In 2003, she joined the radio soap The Archers as a producer, a position which Oates credits as the majority of her training. After resigning from this job, Oates began working on the ITV soap opera Emmerdale as a script editor, during which time she assisted with the soap's fortieth anniversary celebrations and worked on British Soap Award-winning storylines. She remained in the position until 2012 when she joined Coronation Street as the assistant producer.

On 17 October 2012, a live episode of the British soap opera Emmerdale was broadcast, marking the 40th anniversary of the first episode in 1972. The episode was broadcast at the usual time of 7 pm on ITV. For the 40th anniversary live episode, Emmerdale announced that a character would die, and that character was Carl King, who was hit with a brick by his love rival Cameron Murray. The episode also featured a wedding and two births. Behind-the-scenes footage was also included.
