Progressive metal is a broad fusion music genre melding heavy metal and progressive rock, combining the loud "aggression" and amplified guitar-driven sound of the former with the more experimental, cerebral or "pseudo-classical" compositions of the latter.

The Weirding is an album by American progressive rock band Astra. It was their debut album, released in the United Kingdom on May 25, 2009, and on June 23 of that year in the United States. It was released on the independent label Rise Above Records. The album was released and received overall positive reviews, noting that the music was very similar to that of 1970s progressive rock bands like Pink Floyd and Yes, along with the space-rock outfit Hawkwind. Mojo said "The quintet's lengthy gestation period has resulted in a sublime debut that evokes various '70s colossi - panoramic Pink Floyd, mellotron-era King Crimson, Black Sabbath in philosophical mode - without ever stooping to pastiche".
La Grasa de las Capitales is the second album by the Argentine Rock supergroup Serú Girán, released in 1979. After its deeply criticized debut album Serú Girán, the band went in search for a different sound, one that could be closer to the fans' expectations. They grew distant from symphonic rock and became closer to traditional rock and pop while keeping a considerable jazz fusion element in the music, which also was present in the debut album, and to a lesser extent some progressive rock along the way.

High Vibration is a Japanese 16 SACD box set by English-prog rock band Yes, containing first 12 studio albums released by Atlantic Records, the 1973 live album Yessongs, and a bonus disc. All of the discs are remastered by Isao Kikuchi, the SACDs are packaged like Mini-LP, similar to the Beatles box set The Beatles in Mono. The box set also features a 200-page book in Japanese, the box set has never been officially released outside of Japan.
