Guernica, officially Gernika in Basque, is a town in the province of Biscay, in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, Spain. The town of Guernica is one part of the municipality of Gernika-Lumo, whose population is 16,224 as of 2009.
The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is a museum of modern and contemporary art in Bilbao (Biscay), Spain. It is one of several museums affiliated to the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and features permanent and visiting exhibits of works by Spanish and international artists. It was inaugurated on 18 October 1997 by King Juan Carlos I of Spain, with an exhibition of 250 contemporary works of art. It is one of the largest museums in Spain.

Jorge Oteiza Enbil, was a Basque Spanish sculptor, painter, designer and writer from the Basque Country, renowned for being one of the main theorists on Basque modern art. Oteiza was born in Orio. He moved to South America in 1935, just before the Spanish Civil War, and stayed there for 14 years. In 1963 he published Quosque tandem!, an essay about the aesthetics inherent to Basque soul, based on prehistoric art found in Basque regions and Basque people's anthropological roots. Three years on, he contributed to found the artistic group Gaur.

The High Tide Organ was a tidal organ 15 metres tall constructed in 2002 as part of "The Great Promenade Show" series of sculptures situated along Blackpool's New Promenade in the UK. It was removed in early 2022. The artwork, described as a "musical manifestation of the sea", is one of a few examples of a tidal organ; others include the San Francisco Wave Organ and the Sea Organ in Croatia.

The Cathedral of the Good Shepherd located in the city of San Sebastián, Gipuzkoa, Basque Country, Spain. It is the seat of the suffragan Diocese of San Sebastián and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Pamplona y Tudela. The most remarkable religious building of San Sebastián, it is endowed with a strong verticality and is the largest in Gipuzkoa. Its construction took place in the last years of the 19th century in a Historicist Neo-Gothic style. The church, dedicated to the Good Shepherd, has held the rank of cathedral since 1953.

Elogio del Horizonte is a concrete sculpture located on the cliffsides of Gijón, Spain, overlooking the Cantabrian Sea. It stands 10 metres (33 ft) tall and weighs 500 tonnes. Designed by Basque sculptor Eduardo Chillida and inaugurated in 1990, it has been described as a "symbol" of Gijón. Conversely, it has also received criticism for its elevated construction costs and unusual shape.
