The Firm is Malaysia's first corporate reality television programme produced by Popiah Pictures and ntv7. Hosted by Peter Pek and Chan Boon Yong , the show is directed by award-winning director Ng Ping Ho of Kopitiam fame.
In season one of The Firm, a group of 10 professionals compete in an elimination-style competition to find the next corporate high-flyer. The winner gets attractive prizes as well as a one-year contract with Tune Money , Asia's first "no-frills" online financial service founded by Dato' Tony Fernandes (founder of budget airline, AirAsia ). In addition to Pek and Chan, the other judge on the show is Tengku Zafrul Aziz , making it the only television show in Malaysia to have three millionaire judges.
The show attempts to separate the weak from the strong, the under-achievers from the over-achievers and the followers from the leaders. Each week, candidates compete in a series of tasks dealing with different disciplines in business that is imperative to the success of a corporate high-flier. Amongst others, these include branding, promotions, positioning and catering to target markets. The catch phrase used in the show is "You're terminated". The show premièred prime time on ntv7 on 24 June 2007. Season one of the series was presented by Intel Core 2 Duo, and the official radio station was Fly FM.

The show received over 500 applications, of which only ten were selected after several rounds of interviews. In addition to academic qualifications, individuals were selected based on their desire to excel, ambitious nature, focus, dedication and readiness to take charge. The ten contestants are split into 2 teams that compete with each other. The original team members are:

Each week, the team that loses that week's task is brought back into the boardroom where they will have to face their team's corporate leader, who will decide who should leave The Firm.

The Apprentice 2 is the second season of The Apprentice, which began on September 9, 2004, on NBC. Although this season did not match the ratings of the first and dropped out of the Top 10 Nielsen, it still performed strongly overall, ranking No. 11 with an average of 16.14 million viewers.

Peter Pek is a Malaysian businessman, and the chief executive of the World Branding Forum, a global non-profit organisation that manages and supports a range of programmes. He is also the executive producer of the World Branding Awards. He is the former creative director of New Nation, a British tabloid; the editor-in-chief of Food & Beverage magazine; and publisher of Malaysian Superbrands;. He was a host and judge of the corporate reality television series The Firm. He also starred in The Firm with Chan Boon Yong. The second season of the hit show premièred on 2 August 2008. Peter died on 21 November 2018.

Michaels also returned for All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. Michaels was the only person from this season to return. Country music star John Rich was named the winner defeating actress Marlee Matlin. Lil Jon, La Toya Jackson, Gary Busey, and Lisa Rinna all returned for All-Star Celebrity Apprentice. Jackson and Busey placed twelfth and sixth, respectively, and both won $20,000 for their charities while Lil Jon and Rinna were both semifinalists placing third and fourth, respectively; Jon raised $160,000 and Rinna raised $504,500 resulting in her improving immensely from her first season.

The following day, at NBC's annual upfront presentations to advertisers, Donald Trump confirmed that he would be hosting the fifth season. On January 4, 2012, Trump officially announced the cast on Today and NBC issued a press release with more details. On January 13, 2012, NBC announced the fifth season would premiere February 19, 2012, and would be the first season to air each week's finale live. The network announced that it would air a one-hour version of the previous week's episode prior to the airing of new episodes on February 26 and March 4 at 8 p.m.

The series was commissioned in late 2011 following the popularity of the first celebrity season, and will be the third edition of The Apprentice Australia overall. The official cast was announced in January 2012, with filming beginning on 15 January 2012. Mark Bouris returned as CEO, with his son Dane replacing Brad Seymour as boardroom advisor, alongside Deborah Thomas. TV personality Ian "Dicko" Dickson was the celebrity winner, defeating reality star Nathan Jolliffe in the final boardroom.
The third season of The Celebrity Apprentice Australia began airing on 30 April 2013 on the Nine Network. The series was announced following the conclusion of the second season in 2012. Mark Bouris returned as CEO, his boardroom advisors were again Dane Bouris and Deborah Thomas. The official cast was announced on the Celebrity Apprentice Australia Facebook page on 30 January 2013. Olympic swimmer Stephanie Rice was the winner this season, beating out Olympic sprinter John Steffenson, Socialite Roxy Jacenko, and retired boxer Jeff Fenech.
