Che Puan Sarimah binti Ibrahim (born 19 February 1979) [1] is a Malaysian television host, radio announcer, actress and singer. [2]
Sarimah was born in Dublin, Ireland to a Malaysian father of Malay descent, Ibrahim Ahmad who hailed from Batu Pahat, Johor and an Irish mother, Elizabeth Hanlon from Kilkenny, Ireland who converted from Catholicism to Islam prior to her marriage. She is the eldest of four siblings. [3] She spent her secondary school years at the Emirates International School in Dubai, UAE. She also attends Wesley College, Dublin where she obtained her O-Levels. Sarimah holds an Advanced Diploma in Psychology from College of Allied Educators in Singapore and Bachelor's Degree of Psychology (Hons) from HELP University in Malaysia. [4] [5]
In 2001, she released her debut album “Sarimah”. winning her Best Breakthrough Artiste at AIM Awards 2002. In 1998, she became the first Female Disney Channel Asia Host. In 2009 she became the first Malaysian celebrity to host the first season of The Biggest Loser Asia on Hallmark Channel Asia. [6] She has won several awards as TV Host including Anugerah Seri Angkasa as Best TV Presenter in 2011. She continued her recording artist career with releasing a self produced English single ‘You On My Mind’ in 2013 and a Bahasa Malaysia single of ‘Destinasiku’ in 2016.
Expanding her artistic range and reach, Sarimah joined two popular Breakfast Show's as a radio announcer for Red FM alongside Lil Kev and Mix FM radio stations for its flagship breakfast programme the Mix Breakfast Show alongside Rod for two years. [7]
Sarimah went on to be the first Malaysian Celebrity Host given her own Talk show "The Sarimah Show" aired during primetime on national TV station TV3 in 2017.
In order to continue flourishing her acting career, Sarimah has starred in an Astro Ria TV series as herself in "Jack Yusof" [8] with Malaysian actor Rosyam Nor and as a human rights lawyer Lydia, who defends daughter and friends from a sexual predator/lecturer in a Astro Premier TV series known as Riot!. [9]
Recent media articles [10] [11] reveal Sarimah has set her sights further afield, reportedly undergoing tutelage from an Irish acting coach Gerry Grennell [12] who has "worked with the likes of Marlon Brando, Meryl Streep, Natalie Portman, Sean Penn, Tom Cruise, Josh Brolin, Cillian Murphy, Bruce Willis, Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Brian Cox, Ewan McGregor and Orlando Bloom. Johnny Depp and Andrew Garfield have both been frequent collaborators (“If you are lucky enough to be taught by Gerry you should listen,” Garfield once said), as was the late Heath Ledger," wrote Alex Ritman [13] for the Hollywood Reporter. In 2006, Sarimah was married to an Australian man, Amir Andrew Abdullah ( né Andrew John Browning) [15] but the couple divorced on 15 May 2009. [16] [17]
In April 2015, she married His Highness Tunku Nadzimuddin bin Tunku Mudzaffar (also known as Tunku Jamie), a grandson of the tenth Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Ja’afar ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman and Tunku Ampuan Najihah. Her father-in-law is Tunku Mudzaffar ibni Tunku Mustapha, the Tunku Kecil Besar of Negeri Sembilan and her mother-in-law is Tunku Naquiah binti Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar, the Tunku Dara of Negeri Sembilan.
Prior to their marriage, they were engaged on 27 September 2014 and had a private wedding reception at one of the prestigious hotels in Kuala Lumpur. [18]
Upon her marriage, she was granted the honorific prefix of Che Puan (equivalent to the English "Lady") which signifies her as the consort of a royal prince that is not of noble or royal bloodline. [19] She is styled as Yang Berbahagia (The Felicitous). [20] [21]
Sarimah and Tunku Jamie had a daughter together named Tunku Sofia Najihah. She was born on 19 July 2019. [22]

The Raja Permaisuri Agong, also known as the Paramount Consort and also unofficially as the Queen of Malaysia, is the consort of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the elected, constitutional federal monarch of Malaysia.
Al-Mu’tassimu Billahi Muhibbuddin Sultan Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah was the 28th Sultan of Kedah from 1958 until his death in 2017, the fifth Yang di-Pertuan Agong from 1970 to 1975, and again as the fourteenth from 2011 to 2016. He was the first and only ruler to reign as Yang di-Pertuan Agong twice, as well as the oldest elected to the office. Immediately prior to his death, he was the second longest-reigning living monarch in the world after Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.
Tuanku Sir Abdul Rahman ibni Almarhum Tuanku Muhammad was Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan from 1933, and the first Yang di-Pertuan Agong of the Federation of Malaya from 1957, until his death in 1960.
Tuanku Ja’afar ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman was Yang Di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan from 1967 until his death in 2008, and previously the tenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the constitutional monarch of Malaysia, from 1994 to 1999.

Tunku Besar Burhanuddin ibni Almarhum Yamtuan Antah was a member of the Negeri Sembilan royal family and once served as regent of Negeri Sembilan. His father was Yamtuan Antah ibni Yamtuan RadIn, who served as the 6th Yamtuan Besar from 1869 to 1888. Tunku Burhanuddin's elder brother, Tuanku Muhammad became the 7th Yamtuan Besar and the first to use the title Yang di-Pertuan Besar upon Yamtuan Antah's death.
Tunku Ampuan Najihah binti Almarhum Tunku Besar Burhanuddin was the Tunku Ampuan of Negeri Sembilan. She was formerly the Tunku Ampuan Besar or Queen consort of Negeri Sembilan from 1967 to 2008. She also served as Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaysia between 1994 and 1999.
Tuanku Aishah Rohani binti Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud is the current Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan. She is the wife of the current Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir.

Tunku Annuar ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah was a member of the Kedah royal family and the Chairman of the Regency Council of the Malaysian state of Kedah from December 2011 until his death in May 2014. He was the son of Sultan Badlishah and the half-brother of Sultan Abdul Halim.
Che Puan Besar Hajah Haminah binti Haji Hamidun, formerly known as Sultanah Haminah is the former Sultanah of Kedah and the widow of Sultan Abdul Halim Mua'dzam Shah. Born as a commoner, she married Sultan Abdul Halim on 25 December 1975 as his second wife. She served as the 14th Raja Permaisuri Agong of Malaysia from 2011 to 2016, during her husband's second term as Yang di-Pertuan Agong, the Malaysian federal head of state. After her husband's death in September 2017, his successor and her brother-in-law Sultan Sallehuddin, bestowed upon her the title Che Puan Besar of Kedah, roughly equivalent to the queen dowager.
Tunku Ali Redhauddin ibni Tuanku Muhriz is the eldest son of the reigning Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir and the Tunku Ampuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Aishah Rohani binti Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud. He was proclaimed the title Tunku Besar of Seri Menanti on 22 February 2009 and also a member of the Negeri Sembilan Council of Justice and Law. Besides his official duties, Tunku Ali divides his time between corporate boards, non-profit entities and educational institutions. He was recognised as a Young Global Leader in 2013 by World Economic Forum.
Tunku Tan Sri Dato' Seri Imran ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar is a Malaysian sports administrator. He was born as the second son of Ja'afar of Negeri Sembilan, the elected monarch of Negeri Sembilan, one of the thirteen states of Malaysia. He is often known in English simply as Prince Tunku Imran.
Tunku Dato’ Seri Nadzaruddin ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar is the third son of Tuanku Jaafar of Negeri Sembilan.
Che' Puan Mahkota Khaleeda Johor is the wife of Tunku Ismail ibni Sultan Ibrahim. Through her marriage she is known as the Consort of the Regent and Crown Prince of the Malaysian State of Johor.
The Most Illustrious Royal Family Order of Negeri Sembilan is the highest chivalric and dynastic order of the state of Negeri Sembilan. The order was established on 24 May 1979 by Yamtuan Besar Tuanku Ja'afar to recognize the contributions made by heads of state and consorts to the state.
