The Firm is Malaysia's first corporate reality television programme produced by Popiah Pictures and ntv7. Hosted by Peter Pek and Chan Boon Yong, the show is directed by award-winning director Ng Ping Ho of Kopitiam fame. In The Firm, a group of professionals compete in an elimination-style competition to find the next corporate high-flyer.

Contents

Season 2 saw an increase from ten candidates to 14, and the number of episode from 10 to 13. It premièred prime time on ntv7 and Astro channel 107 on 2 August 2008. Contestants vie for the chance to get a contract to work for the chief executive officer of The Firm and RM100,000.

Season 2 received over 500 applications in a nationwide search from January to April 2008. Of these, 100 were selected to be interviewed and the final 14 selected to appear in the show after extensive interviews. In addition to academic qualifications, individuals were selected based on their desire to excel, ambitious nature, focus, dedication and readiness to take charge. The 14 candidates are split into two teams that compete with each other. For the first time, a student was given the chance to compete. The team members are:

Terminations

Each week, the team that loses that week's task is brought back into the boardroom where they will have to face their team's corporate leader, who will decide who should leave The Firm.

Peter Pek is a Malaysian businessman, and the chief executive of the World Branding Forum, a global non-profit organisation that manages and supports a range of programmes. He is also the executive producer of the World Branding Awards. He is the former creative director of New Nation, a British tabloid; the editor-in-chief of Food & Beverage magazine; and publisher of Malaysian Superbrands;. He was a host and judge of the corporate reality television series The Firm. He also starred in The Firm with Chan Boon Yong. The second season of the hit show premièred on 2 August 2008. Peter died on 21 November 2018.

Comic Relief Does The Apprentice is a special celebrity version of British reality television series The Apprentice, initially produced to raise money for Comic Relief. The first edition aired in March 2007. In 2008, the same format was broadcast until the title Sport Relief Does The Apprentice. Each series involves five male and five female celebrities competing in a single Apprentice task.

Young Apprentice is a British reality television programme and a spin off of The Apprentice, in which a group of young people compete against each other in a series of business related challenges to win a £25,000 investment from British business magnate Lord Sugar. In addition to Sugar, he was also joined by his adviser Nick Hewer, and new adviser Karren Brady, prior to her debut on the main show, upon Margaret Mountford's departure from the role in 2009.
