The Great Gatsby is a 2023 stage musical with music and lyrics by Jason Howland and Nathan Tysen, and a book by Kait Kerrigan. It is based on the 1925 novel of the same name by F. Scott Fitzgerald.
The show started its Broadway previews on March 29, 2024, at the Broadway Theatre and officially opened on April 25, 2024. [1] [2] [3]
The show received its world premiere in Millburn, New Jersey, at the Paper Mill Playhouse. Previews began on October 12, 2023, with an official opening night on October 22. It played for a limited engagement through November 12. It starred Jeremy Jordan, Eva Noblezada, Noah J. Ricketts, and Stanley Wayne Mathis as Jay, Daisy, Nick, and Wolfsheim respectively. [4] It was directed by Marc Bruni and choreographed by Dominique Kelly.
In January 2024, it was announced that the Paper Mill production would transfer to Broadway in the spring of 2024. Jeremy Jordan, Eva Noblezada, and Noah J. Ricketts reprised their roles as Jay, Daisy, and Nick respectively. Eric Anderson joined the cast as Wolfsheim, replacing Stanley Wayne Mathis. The show is directed by Marc Bruni with set design by Paul Tate dePoo III. The show started previews on March 29, 2024, at the Broadway Theatre, and officially opened on April 25, 2024. [5] [6]

The Great Gatsby is a 1925 novel by American writer F. Scott Fitzgerald. Set in the Jazz Age on Long Island, near New York City, the novel depicts first-person narrator Nick Carraway's interactions with mysterious millionaire Jay Gatsby and Gatsby's obsession to reunite with his former lover, Daisy Buchanan.

Chad Beguelin is an American playwright and lyricist. He wrote the lyrics and co-wrote the book for The Prom. He also wrote the book for Disney's Aladdin, as well as additional lyrics for the score. He was nominated for Best Original Book and Best Original Score for Aladdin. He is also known for his collaborations with composer Matthew Sklar, having written the lyrics and co-written the book for the Broadway musical The Wedding Singer and the lyrics for the Broadway musical Elf the Musical. The musical centers on Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow, the ill-fated lovers and outlaws whose story has been infamous since they achieved folk hero status during the Great Depression.
