Contestants

The twelve original celebrities taking part were revealed on 11 December 2013. [1]

Two of the original line-up withdrew from the show before it began: it was announced on 13 January 2014 that socialite Tara Palmer-Tomkinson had quit the show and been replaced by Laura Hamilton, [2] while actor Sam J. Jones withdrew the following day due to a shoulder injury, to be replaced by Ritchie Neville. [3]

When the series began, it was revealed that Joe McElderry and Donal MacIntyre were also training as standby competitors. [4] When Henry Conway withdrew from the competition on 28 January 2014 following a hand injury, a live ski jump-off was contested between McElderry and MacIntyre, with McElderry winning and thus taking Conway's place. However, MacIntyre joined the following day, when Melinda Messenger was forced to withdraw due to concussion. On 3 February 2014, prior to the evening's final, Sir Steve Redgrave and Marcus Brigstocke were forced to withdraw due to injuries they suffered during training. [5] [6]

The seventh series of British talent competition programme Britain's Got Talent was broadcast on ITV, from 13 April to 8 June 2013; because of England's international friendly with the Republic of Ireland that year, the show took a break on 29 May to avoid clashing with live coverage of the match. Because of the work schedule of Stephen Mulhern, host of Britain's Got More Talent, filmed auditions had to be pushed back to mid-January that year, while no guest judge was brought in despite the absence of Simon Cowell for an audition session. Following the previous series, the programme's format was given a minor amendment - the cash prize offered to winners was reduced to £250,000 from this series onwards.

The Jump (2014 TV series) British reality television series

The Jump is a British television series that followed celebrities as they tried to master various winter sports including skeleton, bobsleigh, snowskates, ski cross, and giant slalom. The second series of the British reality-documentary series The Big Reunion began airing on ITV2 on 6 February 2014 and ended on 27 March 2014. The show features 'teen' bands, some of whom were big names in the UK pop music scene between the 1990s and early 2000s, and the programme follows them as they reunite for the first time in a decade and go through their two weeks of intensive rehearsals before finally stepping back on stage for a comeback performance.

The Jump returned for a third series on 31 January 2016. It is once again hosted by Davina McCall live from Austria and it was broadcast weekly instead of its usual nightly format. The series consists of 50 episodes, which focus on the professional and personal lives of medical and ancillary staff at the fictional Holby City Hospital. Seán Gleeson serves as the series producer. A new theme tune was introduced in the series, but was negatively received from viewers. As the series was filmed during the COVID-19 pandemic, it had to comply with safety protocols, including social distancing and reduced people on-set. Early in the series, actors Dawn Steele and Trieve Blackwood-Cambridge isolated and became a work bubble for two episodes to film close proximity scenes. The series was promoted through multiple trailers and behind-the-scenes videos.
