The Kitchen Tape is a demo tape by the American rock band Weezer. It was recorded on August 1, 1992, prior to the band's signing with Geffen Records.
The demo was recorded using frontman Rivers Cuomo's 8-track tape recorder in a rented garage next to the "Amherst House", where Weezer often rehearsed. [2] The name of the tape comes from the fact that the drums were recorded in a kitchen, where the band members felt that they sounded the best. [3]
Band historian Karl Koch has recalled that the demo was recorded "to get shows and also try to make an impression", and that "[there] were no aspirations yet to try to generate real label interest, but the concept of 'creating a buzz' was being thrown around." [2]
The Kitchen Tape has not received an official release beyond the original small run of privately distributed demo cassettes. However, the demo's audio has been bootlegged and spread online. [1] Additionally, the recordings of "Undone - The Sweater Song", "Paperface", and "Only in Dreams" from the demo appear on the 2004 deluxe release of Weezer (The Blue Album) .

Its characters were to be voiced by members of Weezer, plus the guest vocalists Rachel Haden and Joan Wasser.
Weezer's Christmas CD is a two-track promotional EP officially released January 1, 2001. It was sent to radio stations, as well as in small quantities to members of the band's fan club. It is noteworthy for its three-minute crescendo of the two guitars, bass, and drums, in which the dynamics gradually increase and the timbre builds up layers until the climaxing guitar solo at the end.
The Majesty Demos is the first demo album by American progressive metal band Dream Theater, under their original name, Majesty. The original 1986 tape contained six tracks that were recorded on Mike Portnoy's analog 4-track recorder, and another 4-track recorder obtained from friends at Berklee College of Music. All the band members were about 19 years old at the time of the recording. Only 1,000 copies were recorded on cassette tape and distributed to fans and rock and metal magazines. Portnoy gave one copy to Jim Matheos of Fates Warning, a move that was instrumental in the band's break into the progressive rock scene. It is available as a digital release, CD release and 12" vinyl. The album features home demos that Cuomo has recorded from 1992–2007.

Alone II debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart with first-week sales of 6,000. It was followed by Alone III: The Pinkerton Years (2011).
Death to False Metal is a compilation album by American rock band Weezer, released on November 2, 2010 by Geffen Records. The album comprises several previously unreleased tracks from throughout Weezer's career, with vocalist and guitarist Rivers Cuomo stating that the songs together make an album that should "logically follow Hurley". The album debuted at number 48 on the US Billboard 200.
Karl Michael Koch is a general assistant and "unofficial fifth member" of the American rock band Weezer. He has worked as a roadie, concert photographer, webmaster and social media manager, archivist and historian, and art director since the band's inception. Drummer Patrick Wilson said in 2005, "[the band] wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Karl."
