The Mauritius Girl Guides Association is the national Guiding organization of Mauritius. [1] It serves 1,051 members (as of 2003). Founded in 1926, the girls-only organization became a full member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1975.
The original Mauritian Girl Guides association, founded in 1926, was only open to English-speaking girls. Later, French-speaking girls also became eligible but membership was restricted to girls of European descent. [2] In 1939 the Anglican community opened the group to girls of all nationalities. Soon afterwards, the Roman Catholic community opened its own, similar groups.
In 1990, the Mauritius Girl Guides Association expanded to include Rodrigues Island.
Scouting, also known as the Scout Movement, is a worldwide youth social movement employing the Scout method, a program of informal education with an emphasis on practical outdoor activities, including camping, woodcraft, aquatics, hiking, backpacking, and sports. Another widely recognized movement characteristic is the Scout uniform, by intent hiding all differences of social standing in a country and encouraging equality, with neckerchief and campaign hat or comparable headwear. Distinctive uniform insignia include the fleur-de-lis and the trefoil, as well as merit badges and other patches.
The World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts is a global association supporting the female-oriented and female-only Guiding and Scouting organisations in 152 countries. It was established in 1928 in Parád, Hungary, and has its headquarters in London, United Kingdom. It is the counterpart of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). WAGGGS is organised into five regions and operates five international Guiding centers. It holds full member status in the European Youth Forum (YFJ), which operates within the Council of Europe and European Union areas, and works closely with these bodies.
Pfadfinder und Pfadfinderinnen Österreichs is the largest Scouting and Guiding organization in Austria and the only one approved by World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) and the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). The association claims more than 300 troops with more than 85,000 Scouts nationwide. WOSM and WAGGGS give quite smaller membership values for the PPÖ: 27,274 members in WOSM and 10,508 members in WAGGGS.
The Association of Scouts of Azerbaijan the national Scouting organization of Azerbaijan, was founded in 1997, and became the 150th member of the World Organization of the Scout Movement on 20 August 2000. In 2017 it was admitted as a full member in the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. The coeducational association has 1,571 members as of 2021, about 35% are girls.

Gidsen- en Scoutsbeweging in België (Dutch) or Guidisme et Scoutisme en Belgique (French) (GSB) is the national Guiding and Scouting federation in Belgium. Scouting in Belgium started in 1911, and Guiding followed in 1915. The Belgian Scouts were among the charter members of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) in 1922, and the Guides were one of the founding members of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in 1928. The federation counts 121,600 Scouts and 59,268 Guides.
The Associação Guias de Portugal is the national Guiding association of Portugal. Guiding in Portugal started in 1919 and became a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in 1963. The girls-only organization has 3,291 members. Its headquarters are located in Lisbon.
The Asociația Ghidelor și Ghizilor din România (AGGR) is the national Guiding organization of Romania. Guiding in Romania began in 1928, was restarted in 1990 and became a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in 1993. The coeducational organization has 1,000 members.
Lietuvos skaučių seserija is a Guiding association in Lithuania. Guiding in Lithuania started in 1926, was banned by the Soviets in 1940 and restarted in 1990.
The National Union of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts of Armenia is the national Guiding Union of Armenia. Guiding came to Armenia in 1988; the union was founded in 1996, and became an associate member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in 2002 and a full member in 2014. The girls-only organization has 1200 members.
The International Scout and Guide Fellowship (ISGF) is a worldwide organization of adults in support of Scouting and Guiding.
Sangam World Centre is one of the five World Centres of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), located on the banks of the Mula River in Pune.
The Fédération Libanaise des Eclaireuses et des Guides is the national Guiding organization of Lebanon. Guiding was introduced to Lebanon in 1937 and became a member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in 1954. The girls-only federation consists of five independent organizations with a total of 6,615 members(as of 2008).

In 1962, Haiti became the first country to issue a postage stamp featuring Lady Baden-Powell.

The Girl Guides Association of Kiribati is the national Guiding organization of Kiribati. It serves 435 members. Founded in 1926, the girls-only organization became an associate member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1990. The association was interrupted during World War II, as Japan seized the islands from 1941 and 1945, when it was still part of the Gilbert Islands.
The Vanuatu Girl Guides Association (VGGA) is the national Guiding organization of Vanuatu. It serves 178 members. Girl Guiding was founded in what was then the New Hebrides in 1955, and the girls-only organization became an associate member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in 1990. Its WAGGGS membership was cancelled in 2008 for failing to meet the minimum criteria in the six core areas, per WAGGGS requirements.
Les Guides de la République Démocratique du Congo is the national Guiding organization of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It was founded in 1991 and became an associate member of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) in July 2008. The association serves 7,784 girls.
