The Mylene Sheath is an American independent record label, founded by Lindsay Palmer and Joel Proper. The label originated in 2007 in Covington, KY / Cincinnati, OH, before later relocating to Athens, Georgia. They have always released music on vinyl with a strong focus on the quality of the physical product. [2]
The first release The Mylene Sheath put out was in August 2007, it was the debut record by If These Trees Could Talk. They went on to subsequently release albums from Caspian and Beware of Safety before the end of the year.
To date, the label has over sixty releases, including albums from Pelican, Jakob, Caspian, Heiress, Junius, Dust Moth, and Aeges. [3]

Rosetta is an American post-metal band from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania incorporating elements of post-hardcore, shoegazing, drone, post-rock, avant-garde and ambient, with influences as diverse as Neurosis and Isis, My Bloody Valentine, Frodus, and Stars of the Lid. The band somewhat humorously self-describes its music as "metal for astronauts", and its members are very interested in astronomy and space travel.

If These Trees Could Talk is an instrumental post-rock band from Akron, Ohio. The band self-released their self-titled debut EP in 2006. Independent record label The Mylene Sheath re-released the EP on vinyl in 2007, and went on to release the band's debut studio album, Above the Earth, Below the Sky, on vinyl also, in 2009. The band self-released their second album Red Forest in March 2012, whilst the album's vinyl release went through Science of Silence Records. They went on to follow up the release of "Red Forest" with a self-promoted tour throughout Europe in April 2012. The band released its third album, The Bones of a Dying World, in June, 2016 on Metal Blade Records.
Beware of Safety, commonly abbreviated as BoS, is an instrumental post-rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band plays sprawling, instrumental rock that could be classified as post-metal, post-rock, and even math rock. Beware of Safety has six official releases in its catalog: It Is Curtains (2007), dogs (2009), Giants/BoS Split 7" (2011), Leaves/Scars (2011), Lotusville (2014), and Mabon (2015). The band has released albums with The Mylene Sheath in the USA as well as Friend of Mine Records in Japan, and has toured throughout the USA and Europe highlighted by performances with Caspian, El Ten Eleven, If These Trees Could Talk, Té, sleepmakeswaves, Maserati, The American Dollar and Junius, among others.

Junius is a self-titled compilation album by American art rock band Junius that compiles the Blood Is Bright EP and the Forcing Out the Silence EP into one collection. The album features remastered tracks from both EPs, while the CD and Vinyl formats include additional content such as expanded artwork, and lyrics.
Junius / Rosetta is a split EP by American art rock band Junius and American post metal band Rosetta. After several years of planning, the title was made available on September 27, 2011 through Translation Loss in CD format and on November 22, 2011 through The Mylene Sheath in vinyl format. However, the vinyl release was limited, and only 1,000 copies have been pressed for distribution. Junius / Rosetta includes two original tracks by both bands and a download card to obtain additional content online, including two cover songs originally by Soundgarden and Hum.

Above the Earth, Below the Sky is the first full-length studio album by American post-rock band If These Trees Could Talk. It was independently released on March 11, 2009 and then re-released by The Mylene Sheath on vinyl the following year then released once again through Metal Blade in January 2015. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered by Tim Gerak at Mammoth Cave Studio in Akron. The album was produced by Zack Kelly and Tim Gerak.
Sines is the fourth studio album by New Zealand post-rock band Jakob. It was released through The Mylene Sheath records on October 21, 2014. The album was recorded at Roundhead Studios and Sister Lung Studios in Auckland and Napier, respectively, mixed by Jeff Boyle and mastered by Chris Chetland. Rhian Sheehan contributed the string arrangements. Single "Blind Them with Science" premiered August 1, 2014.
