The Old House, Ightham Common

Last updated

The Old House is a Grade II listed public house at Redwell Lane, Ightham Common, Kent TN15 9EE. [1]

It is on the Campaign for Real Ale's National Inventory of Historic Pub Interiors for the rare survival of a late 19th century beerhouse interior. [2]

It dates to the 17th century. [1]

The Old House is notable for its unspoilt historic interior, probably of late 19th century date (it was first licensed as a beerhouse in 1872, and did not obtain a full licence in 1953). It consists of two simply furnished rooms. The main bar, on the left, appears to be formed from two earlier rooms, and has a Victorian counter. On the right is a smaller, very domestic room. [3]
