The Streetly Academy (formerly known as The Streetly School) [2] is a large co-educational secondary school in Streetly, West Midlands, England, on the border of Birmingham and Walsall local authorities. It was established in 1961.
In December 2012, the school was ranked as “Good” by OFSTED [3] and became the first school in England to move from "Satisfactory" to "Outstanding" in 3 years under the new, more challenging framework introduced in 2012. In 2019, after an Ofsted inspection, the school was given a "Requires Improvement". On its next inspection in October 2022, the school was graded as "Good" in all areas, with the 6th Form being graded as "Outstanding".
In 2014 Streetly was designated a National Teaching School, known as The Sutton Park Teaching School. It is also a National Support School.[ citation needed ]
The current headteacher is Billy Downie, a National Leader of Education. Previous headteachers include Debbie Hunton, Pat Walters (interim head) and David Binnie.
Notable former students include swimmer Tully Kearney, who won gold for Great Britain at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics [4] [5] and Connie Talbot, an English singer who was the runner-up of the first series of Britain's Got Talent in 2007.
Screenwriter, producer and director Steven Knight, attended the school between 1970 and 1977.
Former Chief Executive of UK Trade and Investment, Catherine Raines, was a student at Streetly between 1976 and 1981.
Businessman, entrepreneur and author, Jeremy Dale attended between 1978 and 1983.
The Office for Standards in Education, Children's Services and Skills (Ofsted) is a non-ministerial department of His Majesty's government, reporting to Parliament. Ofsted's role is to make sure that organisations providing education, training and childcare services in England do so to a high standard for children and students. Ofsted is responsible for inspecting a range of educational institutions, including state schools and some independent schools. It also inspects childcare, adoption and fostering agencies and initial teacher training, and regulates early years childcare facilities and children's social care services.
Sheldon School is a large mixed secondary school and sixth form in Chippenham, Wiltshire for students aged 11 to 18 and is the largest school in Wiltshire. Since April 2011, it has been an Academy. It is one of three secondary schools in Chippenham, the others being Abbeyfield and Hardenhuish. Gordon's School is a secondary school with academy status in West End near Woking, Surrey, England. It was founded as the Gordon Boys' Home in 1885. It is now one of the 36 state boarding schools in England. It converted to an academy on 1 January 2013. But controversy arose over the school charging £10,494 a year for day-pupil places. It has been argued that makes the state school selective, along with others which charge similar fees. Under the Education Act 1996 it is illegal for state schools to charge for admission or education provided within normal hours. Saint Marylebone School is a secondary school for girls in Marylebone, London. It specialises in Performing Arts, General Arts, Maths & Computing. In the sixth form, boys can attend as well. The school then became a converter academy, having previously been judged as "outstanding in every respect" by Ofsted.

The school originally opened in May 1962 as Burnt Mill Comprehensive School, de jure keeping this name until academisation in 2011. It joined the Confucius institute programme in 2007, partnering with Suzhou Lida Middle School in Jiangsu, China. This granted the school an International School Award. William Edwards School, commonly referred to by locals and students as Willy Eds, is a coeducational secondary comprehensive school with academy status, in Grays, Essex, England. It is a founding member of the South West Essex Community Education Trust (SWECET) and is its leading member. The current headteacher of the school is Simon Bell. The school first opened on 11 September 1962, gained specialist sports college status in 2002 and in 2004 also became a training school. The school achieved outstanding in its Ofsted inspection of December 2010 after which it closed to make way for the current academy status school, reopening on 1 August 2011. In March 2017 the school was inspected and retained outstanding status. As of 2019 it requires improvement.

Sir Herbert Leon Academy is a coeducational comprehensive secondary academy school and sixth form located in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, England. It is currently sponsored by the Academies Enterprise Trust, having become an academy under this sponsorship. Originally founded as two separate boys and girls schools on Bletchley Road (Queensway), the schools unified as a coeducational senior school in 1937. In the 1960s it was renamed to Leon Secondary School, in honour of Sir Herbert Leon, and relocated to Fern Grove in 1971, becoming a comprehensive. The school specialised and became the Leon School and Sports College sometime between 1996 and 2001, and academized as Sir Herbert Leon Academy in 2012. Between 2011 and 2014, the school hosted one of two campuses for the Milton Keynes South Sixth Form, in collaboration with nearby Lord Grey School.

Tully Alicia Jacqueline Kearney is a British Paralympic swimmer. Kearney currently competes in the S5/SB4/SM5 classification for swimmers with physical disabilities. She won gold and silver at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and followed this up at the Paris 2024 Games with two further gold medals, including retaining her 100 m freestyle S5 title. Since first competing at the World Para Swimming Championships in 2013 she has won thirteen World Championship medals, ten of which are gold. Kearney is a multiple British, European and World record holder.
