The Sunday Footy Show is an Australian sports variety television program covering professional rugby league in Australia. The show is currently hosted by Danika Mason. Also featuring on the show are former rugby league players and current commentators Brad Fittler along with former Jillaroos player Allana Ferguson.
The show has aired on Sundays since 1993, currently airing from 11am to 1pm. Each episode covers rugby league-related content including previews of the weekend's fixtures and interviews with players. In New South Wales and in Queensland, it airs on Channel Nine, whilst in all other AFL dominated states it is shown on delay on GEM. This would lead into Nine's broadcast of Sunday afternoon football. The telecast into South Australia was controversially cancelled in early 2014 but returned late in 2015. Before 2013, The Sunday Footy Show was not broadcast into the AFL dominated states at all.
The show was formerly hosted by Paul Vautin from 1993−2004, Peter Sterling from 1993−2015, Yvonne Sampson, 2016 and James Bracey in 2017.
In 2012, The Sunday Footy Show incorporated the show's former sister series, The Sunday Roast , which aired in its own right from 2005 to 2011, as a segment as part of the show.
The Fox Footy Channel was a channel exclusively dedicated to Australian rules football. It was owned by Foxtel and operated out of their Melbourne-based studios. From 2002–2006 it was available on Foxtel, Austar, Optus Television, TransTV and Neighbourhood Cable until transmission ceased on 1 October 2006. The channel was revived as Fox Footy for the 2012 AFL season after a new broadcast agreement was reached between Fox Sports and the AFL.

Paul Vautin, nicknamed Fatty, is an Australian football commentator and former professional rugby league footballer, captain and coach. He has provided commentary for the Nine Network's coverage of rugby league since joining the network in 1992 and also hosted The Footy Show from its beginnings in 1994 opposite co-host Peter Sterling, until 2017. An Australian Kangaroos test and Queensland State of Origin representative lock or second-row forward, Vautin played club football in Brisbane with Wests, before moving to Sydney in 1979 to play with Manly-Warringah, whom he would captain to the 1987 NSWRL premiership. He also played for Sydney's Eastern Suburbs, and in England for St Helens.
Peter Maxwell John Sterling nicknamed Sterlo, is an Australian former rugby league commentator, television personality and player. He was one of the all-time great halfbacks and a major contributor to Parramatta Eels' dominance of the New South Wales Rugby League premiership in the 1980s. Sterling played eighteen Tests for the Australian national team between 1982 and 1988. He also played in thirteen State of Origins for New South Wales, winning man of the match on four occasions. Sterling played in four premiership-winning sides with Parramatta in 1981–1983 and 1986 and has been inducted into the Australian Rugby League Hall of Fame. His time spent playing for English club Hull F.C. also earned him membership in their hall of fame.

The format mixes archival footage of the listed events with comments from various Australian celebrities.
The Sunday Roast was an Australian sports talk show that dealt with the issues in the National Rugby League. Created by sports presenter Andrew Voss, it aired on the Nine Network, first screening in 2005, beginning at 11:00 am and leading into The Sunday Footy Show. In 2006, with the axing of Voss's previous show, Boots N' All, The Sunday Footy Show moved to 11:00 am, with The Sunday Roast moving to midday.
Nine's Wide World of Sports is a long running sports anthology brand on Australian television that airs on the Nine Network and streaming service Stan. All major sports, events and series covered by the network are broadcast under this brand, the flagship sports being rugby league, rugby union and Grand Slam tennis and spring horse racing. The 1995 State of Origin series was the 14th annual three-game series between the Queensland and New South Wales representative rugby league teams. Due to the Australian Rugby League's ongoing conflicts with Super League, they ruled that no Super League-aligned players were eligible for State of Origin selection in 1995. This appeared to hurt Queensland, eliminating their mostly Brisbane Broncos back line, and they were not widely expected to win the series. However, they won 3–0, their first series win since 1991. Novice Queensland coach Paul Vautin made only one player change to his squad during the three game series. This series once again saw State of Origin football venture to Melbourne, after an enthusiastic Melbourne crowd packed the MCG to watch game two of the 1994 series. Although the crowd in Melbourne was not as high as 1994's then-record origin crowd of 87,161, it was still a success, attracting 52,994 spectators and furthering the case for a first grade team in Melbourne.
