The X Factor is the Greek version of The X Factor , a show originating in the United Kingdom. It is a television music talent show contested by aspiring pop singers drawn from public auditions.

Contents

Auditions are held in Greece in the cities of Athens and Thessaloniki, as well as in Cyprus in the city of Nicosia. Auditions for the third X Factor were also held in New York City. Applicants from the Greek diaspora are also accepted.

The show was broadcast live in Greece and Cyprus, as well as abroad via ANT1's international stations, for the first three seasons. For the fourth and fifth season was broadcast live in Greece via Skai TV and in Cyprus via Sigma TV. The sixth season was broadcast live in Greece via Open TV and in Cyprus via Omega. [1] The seventh season began airing on 18 March 2022 on Mega Channel and on Alpha TV Cyprus. [2]

The winners of the show are: in the 1st season was Loukas Yorkas, in the 2nd was Stavros Michalakakos, in the 3rd was Harry Antoniou, in the 4th was Andreas Leontas, in the 5th was Panagiotis Koufogiannis , in the 6th was Giannis Grosis and in the 7th was Katerina Lazaridou.

Series overview

Series 1 (2008–2009)

The first series of the Greek X Factor started airing in October 2008 on ANT1 and was hosted by singer Sakis Rouvas. The judges were Giorgos Levendis, songwriter Giorgos Theofanous, marketing executive of ANT1 TV, Katerina Gagaki and music critic Nikos Mouratidis.

The winner of the 1st X-Factor was Loukas Yorkas from Cyprus who released his debut EP album in September 2009.

Series 2 (2009–2010)

A second series of X Factor was broadcasteby ANT1 TV. The live shows debuted on October 30. The host and the judges remain the same as in the first series. The winner of the 2nd X-Factor was Stavros Michalakakos from Cyprus.

Series 3 (2010–2011)

A third season of X Factor was broadcast from October 2010 to February 2011. The third series of X Factor was won by Haris Antoniou from Cyprus. The program was broadcast by ANT1 TV and the host and the judges remained the same as the previous year.

Series 4 (2016)

A fourth season of X Factor was broadcast from 4 April to 8 July 2016 on Skai TV. The host Sakis Rouvas remained with Evaggelia Aravani in backstage. Giorgos Theofanous remained from the judges of the past seasons with Peggy Zina, Tamta and Thodoris Marantinis from Onirama being the new judges. The winner of this series was Andreas Leontas from Cyprus.

Series 5 (2017)

A fifth season of X Factor was broadcast from April 27 to July 20, 2017 on Skai TV. The host Sakis Rouvas remained with Evaggelia Aravani in backstage. Tamta remained from the judges of the past seasons with Giorgos Mazonakis, Giorgos Papadopoulos and Babis Stokas being the new judges. The winner of this series was Panagiotis Koufogiannis from Cyprus.

Series 6 (2019)

A sixth season of X Factor began broadcast from 11 September 2019 on Open TV. The judges are Giorgos Theofanous, who returned for his fifth series as judge, former The Voice of Greece coach Melina Aslanidou, former Rising Star judge Christos Mastoras and Athens DeeJay Michael Tsaousopoulos. Despina Vandi will be the host, replacing Sakis Rouvas. Aris Makris is presenting the Backstage of Live Shows, replacing Evaggelia Aravani. [3] [4] This was the first edition in which a contenstant from Greece managed to win as in all previous editions the winner was a singer coming from Cyprus.

Series 7 (2022)

A seventh season of The X Factor began broadcast from 18 March 2022 on Mega Channel. Christos Mastoras, returned for his second season as judge, and with the three new judges, Mariza Rizou, Stelios Rokkos and Michalis Kouinelis. Andreas Georgiou hosted the live shows. Ilias Bogdanos and Katerina Lioliou were presenting the backstage of Live Shows. [5]

Ellada Eheis Talento is a Greek reality television series and is part of the Got Talent multinational franchise. It premiered in Greece for the first time on 23 March 2007 and ended after 4 seasons on 25 June 2012 on the ANT1. On 1 October 2017 the show came back with the fifth season and for the first time from Skai TV, ended after 2 seasons on 16 December 2018. On 8 January 2022 the show returned again on ANT1.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Ivi Adamou</span> Greek Cypriot singer (born 1993)

Ivi Adamou is a Greek Cypriot singer. She was born and raised in Agia Napa, Cyprus and currently resides in Alexandroupoli, Greece. Adamou rose to recognition in Greece and Cyprus following her participation in the second season of the Greek version of The X Factor, where she was under the mentorship of Giorgos Theofanous. Right after her elimination from the X Factor, Adamou secured a recording contract with Sony Music Greece. She gained further recognition from her participation in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, where she represented Cyprus with the song "La La Love".

The first series of the music talent show The X Factor Greece began airing on ANT1 on 4 October 2008 and was won by Loukas Giorkas on 30 January 2009. The show was presented by Sakis Rouvas. It was also broadcast abroad via ANT1's international stations.

The second series of the music talent show The X Factor Greece began airing on ANT1 on 2 October 2009, and was won by Stavros Michalakakos of Limassol (Lemesos), Cyprus on 12 February 2010. The show was presented for a second year by Sakis Rouvas. It was also broadcast abroad via ANT1's international stations. The series featured Eleftheria Eleftheriou and Ivi Adamou who both participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 2012 representing Greece and Cyprus as well as Hovig who represented Cyprus in the Eurovision Song Contest 2017. Also the runner up of the series, Nini Shermadini, was one of the Georgian backing vocalists.

The first season of Greek Idol premiered on 5 March 2010 on Alpha TV.

"Tharros I Alitheia" is a song by Greek pop singer Tamta, featuring fellow Greek pop/rock singer Sakis Rouvas. The dance song was written by Dimitris Kontopoulos with lyrics by Viki Gerothodorou for her third studio album of the same name and was released on 9 December 2009 to radio stations in Greece and Cyprus by Minos EMI. This was Tamta and Rouvas' second collaboration after a duet recorded for the latter's 2006 album was never released. The song also served as promotion for the two artists' winter 2009–2010 concert series at The S Club.

Politia Live Clubbing summer 2010 is a series of concerts by Greek pop/rock singer Sakis Rouvas with Greek pop singer Tamta, rock group CABIN 54, and upcoming singers Stefania Rizou and Eleana Azoukia as his supporting acts, with Giorgos Axas as his special series guest. The show was an extension of The S Club concert series and brought the show to Thessaloniki beginning on 14 May.

The X Factor Greece is a Greek television reality music competition, based on the original series in the UK, to find new singing talent. The winner of which receives a recording contract with Sony Music Greece is Haris Antoniou. The third series began airing on ANT1 on 1 October 2010 and ended on 11 February 2011. The show was presented by Sakis Rouvas, with Giorgos Lianos and Maria Sinatsaki hosting the audition shows. The competition is split into several stages: auditions, bootcamp, judges' houses and live shows. The Voice of Greece is a Greek television talent show created by John de Mol and based on the concept The Voice of Holland. It is part of an international series. It began airing on ANT1 on January 10, 2014, and the final of second season on June 21, 2015. The third season premiered on November 16, 2016, on Skai TV. It also premiered the same day in Cyprus on Sigma TV.

The fourth series of the music talent show The X Factor Greece began airing on Skai TV on 4 April 2016, The show was presented for a second year by Sakis Rouvas. It was also broadcast abroad via SKAI's international stations.

The third season of the Greek Cypriot reality talent show The Voice of Greece premiered on November 16, 2016 on Skai TV. Based on the reality singing competition The Voice of Holland, the series was created by Dutch television producer John de Mol. It is part of an international series.

The sixth season of the talent show The Voice of Greece premiered on September 29, 2019, on Skai TV and Sigma TV.

The seventh season of the talent show The Voice of Greece premiered on September 13, 2020, on Skai TV and Sigma TV, for the fifth time. Host Giorgos Lianos, as well as the four coaches from the previous season, Helena Paparizou, Sakis Rouvas, Panos Mouzourakis and Eleonora Zouganeli all returned. After one season hiatus, Laura Narjes returned as the backstage host, replacing Christina Bompa. Doukissa Nomikou hosted only the live shows, because Lianos was in Dominican Republic, where he was hosting the eighth season of Survivor Greece.

The eighth season of the talent show The Voice of Greece premiered on September 18, 2021 on Skai TV and Sigma TV. Giorgos Lianos is the host for the third time, while the three coaches from the previous five seasons, Helena Paparizou, Sakis Rouvas and Panos Mouzourakis return, welcoming Konstantinos Argyros as the new coach, replacing Eleonora Zouganeli. Valia Hatzitheodwrou will be the backstage host for all the rounds, except the Blind Auditions, replacing Laura Narjes.

The Masked Singer is a Greek reality singing competition television series that premiered on Skai TV on 31 March 2022. It is part of the Masked Singer franchise which began in South Korea and features celebrities singing songs while wearing head-to-toe costumes and face masks concealing their identities. The show is hosted by Sakis Rouvas, the program employs panelists who guess the celebrities' identities by interpreting clues provided to them throughout each season. Elisavet Konstantinidou, Thodoris Marantinis, Nikos Moutsinas and Athina Oikonomakou appear in each episode and vote alongside an audience for their favorite singer after all perform. The least popular is eliminated, taking off their mask to reveal their identity. The first season ended on 2 July 2022 with actor Renos Haralambidis coming in first as "Minotavros" and singer Sarbel coming in second as "Moro".

The director and actor Andreas Georgiou takes over the presentation of the live shows, who replaced Despina Vandi. Singer Ilias Bogdanos and singer Katerina Lioliou were the backstage-hosts, who replaced Aris Makris. Ilias Psinakis was the guest judge only in the live shows. Nikos Mouratidis was the guest judge only in the live shows since the fourth week.
