Theater Institute Chattagram (TIC), is a theatre and cultural convention center located in Chattogram, Bangladesh. It is a theater hall of drama, film and performing arts. The institute is organized and controlled by the City Corporation of the Chittagong district.
The institute arrange various programs such as dance, [1] drama festivals, [2] [3] music, film festivals [4] workshops, exhibitions, etc. The institute is well known, mostly for its various programs that are staged monthly.
Every year 27 March is celebrated as World Theatre Day since 1962 by the centres of the International Theatre Institute, following the organization's decision of the previous year. In 2013, a similar program was organized at Theatre Institute Chattagram. [5]
Pahela Baishakh or Bangla Noboborsho is the first day of Bengali Calendar. It is celebrated on 14 April as a national holiday in Bangladesh, and on 14 or 15 April in the Indian states of West Bengal, Tripura and Northern Odisha and parts of Assam by people of Bengali heritage, irrespective of their religious faith.

Bonna Mirza is a Bangladeshi actress both in television and film, and on stage, and a social activist too. She has acted more than thousand Television-dramas and some remarkable films. Mirza started her career in 1992 with theatre group ‘DeshNatok’, a member of group theater federation. She is an enlisted artist of Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar. Her notable theatre performances are ‘NityaPuran’ and ‘Darpane Sharatshashi’, ‘A Dolls’ House’, ‘Ghorlopat’ among some more. In television acting, she has done more than a thousand. She has been involved with the various theater schools as a faculty. Organizations like Charunigam or Prachyanat frequently ask for her services as a teacher, but there are other social organizations that invite her both as a theater teacher and as a spirited public speaker. As a social activist, she worked for INGOs like UNFPA, USAID, World Vision to create awareness for youth and women. Besides, she has been part of social campaigns regarding issues AIDS, tobacco, terrorism or youth. She is an elected secretary of Actors' Equity, the professional organization of the television actors, from 2018. She is a speaker on various social issues in different social forums – educational institutions, social organizations, TV channels.
Nurul Momen was a Bangladeshi playwright, educator, director, broadcast personality, academician, satirist, essayist, translator and poet. He served as a faculty member in the capacities of professor and dean at the faculty of Law in the University of Dhaka. He was such a luminary who was the teacher and mentor (Guru) of numerous other luminaries who later earned national and international fame. The most famous among them was Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He also served as a lawyer. He is called "Father of Bangladeshi theatre" and "Natyaguru of Bangladesh". He was awarded the Bangla Academy Award in 1961, merely a year after its inception. He was also honoured by the People's Republic of Bangladesh with the Ekushey Padak in 1978, only a couple of years after this State honor was introduced.
Zahid Hasan is a Bangladeshi film, television and stage actor. He has been working as an actor in the show business arena of Bangladesh since the 1990s. He is also a TV commercial model. He was awarded Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in the film Srabon Megher Din (1999).
Tareen Jahan is a Bangladeshi actress, model and singer. In 1987 or 1988, she stood first at the reality television competition program Notun Kuri for acting, dancing and storytelling divisions. Since then she started to working on television as a child artist. She won Meril Prothom Alo Awards in 2006, 2007 and 2012.
Montazur Rahman Akbar is a Bangladeshi film director, screenwriter, producer, social activist and entrepreneur. He is known for his film work in Dhallywood, the Bengali-language film industry centered in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was a freedom fighter in the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. After directing multiple plays, he worked as an assistant director working on the films Chhutir Ghonta andJanata Express under directors such as Matin Rahman and Azizur Rahman from 1979 to 1990.
Madaripur Shilpakala Academy or Zilla Shilpakala Academy, Madaripur, is the principal state-sponsored district cultural center located at Main Road, Madaripur, Bangladesh. It is the district academy of fine and performing arts. The academy is headed by a Director General.
A B M Shahidul Islam, known as S.I. Tutul, is a Bangladeshi singer and musician who is the lead singer and lead guitarist of the Dhrubotara Band. SI Tutul born in Kushtia Khulna Bangladesh. He also works in the Bangladeshi film industry. He won Bangladesh National Film Awards for Best Music Director, Best Music Composer and Best Male Playback Singer.
Tamalika Karmakar is a Bangladeshi actress and model. Her notable film roles were in Ei Ghar Ei Sangsar (1996), Kittonkhola (2000) and Ghetuputra Komola (2012). Tamalika won Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Kittonkhola. In July 2017, she performed, with Aranyak Nattaydal theatre troupe, in Rarang, on their 180th rendition.
Azizul Hakim is a Bangladeshi television, film and stage actor.
