Theni Kunjarammal (died 18 April 2008) was an Indian actress and playback singer who has worked in the Tamil film industry. As a playback singer, she has worked extensively with A. R. Rahman during the late 1990s and early 2000s for folk songs, while also regularly collaborating with Harris Jayaraj.
As an actress, Kunjarammal is best known for her roles as an old woman in a rural village, and made a breakthrough with her performance in Karuththamma (1994) as a woman who feeds insecticide to baby girls. She later reprised the role in Vivek's comedy track in Kadhal Sadugudu (2003). [1] [2]
Theni Kunjarammal has also worked a singer in films and has regularly collaborated with A. R. Rahman on folk songs. The duo first worked together on "Pettai Rap" from Kaadhalan (1994), and have since continued to work on albums including Muthu (1995), Taj Mahal (1999) and Sillunu Oru Kaadhal (2006). [3] [4] She has also worked for other composers including Ilaiyaraaja in Virumaandi (2004) and Harris Jayaraj in Arul (2004). [5]
In June 2006, Kunjarammal joined the political party, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in the presence of its general secretary Jayalalithaa. Upon her acceptance into the party, Kunjarammal performed a song for Jayalalithaa on stage. [6]

Ghajini is a 2005 Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by A. R. Murugadoss and produced by Salem Chandrasekharan. The film stars Suriya and Asin in the lead with Pradeep Rawat as the main antagonist, along with Nayanthara and Riyaz Khan in the supporting roles. Harris Jayaraj composed the soundtrack and background music, while R. D. Rajasekhar and Anthony were the film's cinematographer and editor, respectively. In the film, Sanjay Ramaswamy (Suriya), once an eminent businessman, develops anterograde amnesia due to a head injury he got while attempting to save his fiancee Kalpana (Asin) from getting murdered by a gangster. After that, he sets out to avenge her murder with the aid of photographs from a Polaroid Instant camera and permanent tattoos on his body.
Sillunu Oru Kaadhal is a 2006 Indian Tamil-language romantic drama film directed by N. Krishna from a basic story by AC Durai. It stars Suriya, Bhumika and Jyothika, while Shriya Sharma, Sukanya, Vadivelu and Santhanam play supporting roles. The film's score and soundtrack were composed by A. R. Rahman, with lyrics by the Indian poet Vaali; cinematography for the film was handled by R. D. Rajasekhar and editing was handled by Anthony. The film was released on 8 September 2006, three days before the wedding of Suriya and Jyothika. The film was first titled as Jillunu Oru Kadhal, and it is then changed to Sillunu Oru Kadhal to have a pure-Tamil name.

Karuthamma is a 1994 Indian Tamil-language drama film produced and directed by Bharathiraja from a story by M. Rathnakumar. It follows Sundar Ramaswamy, a corporate raider, who arrives in Tamil Nadu from the United States to cast his vote in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly election, only to find that his vote has already been recorded as cast, which leads him to raises awareness against electoral fraud and contest as a non-partisan politician in the elections amidst several attempts made on his life and reputation.
