Their UK discography is considered the "core catalogue", as it contains the albums, EPs and singles released the way the band intended. The only exception to this is Magical Mystery Tour, as the US LP was added to the core catalogue in 1988. Although their output has come to include vault items, remixed mash-ups and anniversary box-sets, the band's "core catalogue" comprises 213 songs.

The Wildhearts are an English rock band, formed in 1989 in Newcastle upon Tyne. The band's sound is a mixture of hard rock and melodic pop music, often described in the music press as combining influences as diverse as the Beatles and 1980s-era Metallica. The Wildhearts achieved several top 20 singles and two top 10 albums in Britain, though they also faced difficulties with record companies and many internal problems often relating to drugs and depression. Much of the band's early career was affected by bitter feuds with their record company, East West.
Lava Hay were a Canadian folk rock duo formed in 1989 in Toronto, Ontario, consisting of Suzanne Little and Michele Gould. Little and Gould first met in 1986, while working at Now. In 1989 they recorded an album together with the intention of distributing it independently, but it soon came to the attention of Nettwerk.
Ginger was a Canadian rock band in the 1990s. The band was formed by members of the band The Grapes of Wrath, which broke up when Kevin Kane left. The band released four singles and two albums.
A.R. Kane was a British musical duo formed in 1986 by Alex Ayuli and Rudy Tambala. After releasing two early EPs to critical acclaim, the group topped the UK Independent Chart with their debut album 69 (1988). Their second album, "i" (1989), was also a top 10 hit. They were also part of the one-off collaboration MARRS, whose surprise dance hit "Pump Up the Volume" was released in 1987. Ayuli is believed to have coined the term "dreampop" in the late 1980s to describe their eclectic sound, which blended distorted guitars, drum machines, and dub production.
Vincent Jones is a Canadian keyboardist and music producer. He was a member of The Grapes of Wrath and Ginger, and a frequent collaborator with Lava Hay, a band which included Jones' former wife, Michele Gould.

"Life Is a Highway" is a song by Tom Cochrane from his second studio album, Mad Mad World (1991). The song became a number-one hit in Cochrane's native Canada in late 1991. "Life Is a Highway" also peaked at number six on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in August 1992 and reached the top three in Australia and New Zealand that same year. The song was covered by Chris LeDoux for his 1998 album One Road Man and Rascal Flatts for the Cars soundtrack.
"White Room" is a song by British rock band Cream, composed by bassist Jack Bruce with lyrics by poet Pete Brown. They recorded it for the studio half of the 1968 double album Wheels of Fire. In September, a shorter US single edit was released for AM radio stations, although album-oriented FM radio stations played the full album version. The subsequent UK single release in January 1969 used the full-length album version of the track.
"Spirit in the Sky" is a song written and originally recorded by Norman Greenbaum and released in late 1969. The single became a gold record, selling two million copies from 1969 to 1970, and reached No. 3 on the US BillboardHot 100 where it lasted for 15 weeks in the Top 100, and #1 on WCFL on March 16, 1970 and on WLS on March 23, 1970, just before Easter. Billboard ranked the record the #22 song of 1970. It also climbed to #1 on the UK, Australian and Canadian charts in 1970. Rolling Stone ranked "Spirit in the Sky" #333 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. The song was featured on the 1969 album of the same name. Cover versions by Doctor and the Medics and Gareth Gates have also made the #1 spot in the UK.

Seems Like Fate 1984–1992 is a 1994 compilation album by The Grapes of Wrath, released after their break-up in 1992. The collection comprises the major single releases, in addition to all of the B-Sides to singles not included on full-length albums and a previously unreleased demo and remix. The disc comes with a colour booklet detailing the band's history and discography.

Field Trip is an album by Canadian rock band The Grapes of Wrath, released in 2000. The album marked the reunion of Kevin Kane and Tom Hooper as songwriting partners and bandmates for the first time since 1991's These Days, although they were the only two original band members to appear on the album. Session musicians filled in the remaining slots left by departing members Chris Hooper and Vincent Jones, including Pete Bourne on drums and Dave Genn on keyboards.
September Bowl of Green is an album by The Grapes of Wrath. The initial vinyl pressing of the album included a cover version of The Beatles song "If I Needed Someone", but at the request of the band, the song was left off of subsequent pressings. High Road is an album by Canadian folk rock band The Grapes of Wrath, released March 19, 2013 on Aporia Records. It is the band's first album of new material since Field Trip in 2000, and the first to feature all three of the band's original members since 1991's These Days. The tracks "Good To See You" and "Take On The Day" had previously appeared on the band's compilation album Singles, released in 2012.
