Frankie Goes to Hollywood were an English pop band that formed in Liverpool in 1980. They comprised Holly Johnson (vocals), Paul Rutherford, Mark O'Toole (bass), Brian Nash (guitar) and Peter Gill (drums). They were among the first openly gay pop acts and made gay rights and sexuality a theme of their music and performances.

The Band Wagon is a 1953 American musical romantic comedy film directed by Vincente Minnelli, starring Fred Astaire and Cyd Charisse. It tells the story of an aging musical star who hopes a Broadway show will revive his career. However, the play's director wants to make it a pretentious retelling of the Faust legend and brings in a prima ballerina who clashes with the star. Along with An American in Paris (1951) and Singin' in the Rain (1952), it is regarded as one of the finest Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer musicals, although it was a box-office disappointment on first release.
Wicked Lester was a rock band based in New York City. Two notable members were bassist Chaim Witz and rhythm guitarist Stanley Eisen. Originally formed in 1970 as Rainbow, the band changed its name to Wicked Lester in 1971 to avoid confusion with another local band named "Rainbow". Although it secured a record deal with Epic Records and recorded an album, the deal fell through and the band fell apart during 1972. Witz and Eisen, feeling that the band's failure was a result of its lack of vision and direction, decided to found a new band from its remnants. They changed their stage names to Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, respectively, auditioned a new drummer and lead guitarist, and formed the band Kiss by the end of January 1973.

Studio was a Swedish musical duo consisting of Dan Lissvik and Rasmus Hägg, founded by Lissvik (Atelje) in 2000 at Valand School of Fine Arts. Make Model were a Scottish six-piece indie band formed in Glasgow, formerly signed to EMI. They released two singles and garnered much hype, but although their debut album was due in 2008, it was never released and the band split up. Its members were Lewis Gale, Gordon Skene (guitar), Aimi Gold (vocals), Ray Black (drums), Mathew Casey (guitar) and James Cameron (bass).

Billy Boy on Poison was an American rock and roll band from Los Angeles, California. Andrew Leahy of AllMusic suggested the band was "[l]ike the glittery offspring of the New York Dolls", and they "create a debauched, glammy, gender-bending style of rock & roll". The band formed in 2005 by members Dee Dee (Davis) LeDuke, Ryan Wallengren, Dashiell LeFrancis and Jess Calcaterra. The band was managed by Blue Cave Entertainment Group, LLC (BCEG). In 2007, LeFrancis left the band & was replaced by guitarist Gregory West. After writing and recording with producer Chris Sorensen and songwriter Michael Gurley, and engineers Big Stu Brantley and Doug Messenger--- BCEG began shopping the band, and they were subsequently signed by Kiefer Sutherland and Jude Cole of Ironworks Music. In 2009, bass player Julian Borrego left Billy Boy on Poison, and after a rotating cast of bass players, the band settled with Jacob Pillot in December 2010.

They were notably part of the "10 Tips for 2009" shortlist published by NME.
New Look were a Canadian electronic music duo consisting of husband and wife, Adam Pavao and Sarah Ruba. The band released their first EP 'How's My Hair?' in 2008. Their debut album 'New Look' was recorded in Berlin and released on the record label !K7 on October 10, 2011. It has received critical acclamation from both The Guardian and Vogue. The couple split their time between Toronto, Canada where they have a house and studio, and New York City where Ruba works part-time as a model. In 2010, the band toured with English indie pop band The xx.

Drenge is an English three-piece rock band made up of Eoin Loveless on guitar and vocals, his younger brother Rory on drums, and Rob Graham on bass. The brothers grew up in Castleton, Derbyshire, where they formed the band in 2010, relocating to Sheffield in 2014. The band takes their name from something "that would sound like a noise that we would be playing on stage". Their name also translates into "Boys" in Danish. They have released three albums; Drenge (2013), Undertow (2015), and Strange Creatures (2019).
