Career
He joined the Austrian diplomatic service in 1979. In the course of his career he served,inter alia,with the Austrian Mission to the European Communities in Brussels (1982-1986),the Austrian Embassy in Moscow (1986-1990),the Private Office of the Austrian Foreign Minister (1991-1995) and as Deputy Political Director and Director for Security Policy and Policy Planning (1995-1999). From 1999 to 2003 he was Ambassador of Austria to Belgium and Head of the Austrian Mission to NATO. From 2002 to 2004 Mayr-Harting also was the Special Representative of the Austrian Foreign Minister for the Western Balkans. Mayr-Harting served as Political Director (Director General for Political Affairs) of the Austrian Foreign Ministry from 2003 to 2008. In 2008 he also chaired the supervisory board of the Austrian Development Agency.
He then served as Permanent Representative of Austria to the United Nations in New York between December 2008 and October 2011. In this latter capacity he also represented Austria on the United Nations Security Council from 1 January 2009 to 31 December 2010. Mayr-Harting was the President of the UN Security Council in November 2009. [4]
From 2010 until October 2015 Mayr-Harting was the Head of the EU Delegation to the United Nations in New York City. He then moved back to Brussels,where he was managing director for Europe and Central Asia in the European External Action Service until August 2019. [5]
The Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) is the organised, agreed foreign policy of the European Union (EU) for mainly security and defence diplomacy and actions. CFSP deals only with a specific part of the EU's external relations, which domains include mainly Trade and Commercial Policy and other areas such as funding to third countries, etc. Decisions require unanimity among member states in the Council of the European Union, but once agreed, certain aspects can be further decided by qualified majority voting. Foreign policy is chaired and represented by the EU's High Representative, currently Kaja Kallas.
Eduard Kukan was a Slovakian politician who served as Minister of Foreign Affairs from 1998 to 2006. He was a candidate in the presidential election held on 3 April 2004, and although pre-election polls had suggested he would come first, he actually came in third behind the eventual President Ivan Gašparovič and former prime minister Vladimír Mečiar, thus preventing him from contesting the run-off. He was elected Member of the European Parliament (MEP) in 2009, a position he held until 2019.

Michael Spindelegger is an Austrian politician. He served in the cabinet of Chancellor Werner Faymann as foreign minister of Austria from 2008 to 2013 and as finance minister from 2013 to 2014; additionally, he held the office of vice-chancellor from 2011 to 2014. Spindelegger was also the leader of the Austrian People's Party (ÖVP) from 2011 to 2014. In August 2014 he unexpectedly resigned from all political positions. Since 2016, he has been serving as Director General of the Vienna-based International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).

Dimiter Tzantchev is a European diplomat, Ambassador, Head of European Union delegation to the State of Israel. He joined the European external action service after a long and distinguished career in the Bulgarian diplomatic service. He was Bulgaria's Ambassador to the EU, the UN in Geneva and to Israel. Tzantchev was President of COREPER II - January 1 - June 30, 2018 during the first ever Bulgarian rotational presidency of the Council of the EU. One of the longest serving Permanent Representatives to EU in Brussels he was also the Dean of COREPER II from August 2017 until September 2021.

Johann Frank is a Major General of the Austrian Armed Forces. He is the director cabinet of the Chairman of the European Union Military Committee and supports General Robert Brieger, who took over the chairmanship of the EU Military Committee from that date. From 2020 to 2022, he was director of the Institute for Peace Support and Conflict Management at the National Defence Academy in Vienna. From 2014 to 2020, he held the position of Security policy director at the Federal Ministry of Defence and was a permanent member of the National Security Council (NSC) and the council for integration and foreign policy.
