Tiia-Riitta Johanna Reima (born 1 February 1973) is a Finnish retired ice hockey player and coach.
A trailblazer of women's ice hockey in Finland, her career with the Finnish national ice hockey team began in the mid-1980s, the early days of women’s international ice hockey competition, and spanned nearly two decades. During her tenure with the national team, she was one of Finland’s most productive and decorated forwards, [1] winning five IIHF World Women's Championship bronze medals, five IIHF European Women Championship medals (four gold and one bronze), and an Olympic bronze in 1998. Reima’s club career spanned 26 seasons and was played in Finland with Ilves-Kiekko, Ilves Tampere, IHK Helsinki, and the Espoo Blues of the Naisten SM-sarja, and in Switzerland with SC Lyss Damen and the Ladies Team Lugano of the Leistungsklasse A (LKA; renamed SWHL A in 2014). [4]
She served as coach to the Espoo Blues during 2011 to 2013 and as assistant coach during the 2013–14 season, winning the Aurora Borealis Cup in 2013 and 2014. [5] She was assistant coach to Espoo United Naiset during the 2016–17 season, in which they achieved silver in the Finnish Championship. [6]
Prior to the 2010–11 season, the Naisten SM-sarja renamed its annual award recognizing the top goal scorer in the regular season, dubbing it the Tiia Reima Award. [7] The rebranding of the league as Naisten Liiga for the 2017–18 season, did not impact the trophy, which has been awarded in every season since the renaming.
Reima was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame Finland in 2015 as Suomen jääkiekkoleijona ('Finnish Ice Hockey Lion') number 230. [8]
Kiekko-Espoo Naiset are an ice hockey team in the Naisten Liiga. They play in the Tapiola district of Espoo, Finland at the harjoitusareena ('training arena') of the Tapiolan urheilupuisto. The team was founded as Espoon Kiekkoseura (EKS) in 1989 and has also been known as Espoo Blues Naiset and Espoo United Naiset during its tenure in the Naisten Liiga. Kiekko-Espoo have won the Aurora Borealis Cup as the Finnish Champions in women's ice hockey sixteen times, six more wins than any other team in league history; at least one Finnish Championship medal (gold, silver, or bronze) was won under each of the four names.
Sari Kristiina Marjamäkinée Fisk is a Finnish retired ice hockey forward. She played 217 matches as a member of the Finnish national team and represented Finland at sixteen top-level international competitions: three Olympic women's ice hockey tournaments, eight World Championships, and five European Championships. She won an Olympic bronze medal in the inaugural women's ice hockey tournament at the 1998 Winter Olympics, six World Championship bronze medals, four European Championship gold medals, and one European Championship bronze medal.
Kirsi Maaria Hänninen is a Finnish retired ice hockey defenceman and pesäpallo player. She played 116 games with the Finnish national ice hockey team and won a bronze medal with them in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 1998 Winter Olympics.
Marianne Ihalainen is a retired Finnish ice hockey forward. She won a bronze medal as captain of the Finnish national team at the 1998 Winter Olympics and also won six IIHF World Women's Championship bronze medals, four IIHF European Women Championships gold medals and one bronze while representing Finland and was eight time SM-sarja Finnish Champion with Ilves. Ihalainen is regarded as one of the pioneers of women’s ice hockey in Finland and she was one of the first women inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame Finland, alongside fellow trailblazer Riikka Sallinen.
Sanna Kristiina Lankosaari is a Finnish retired ice hockey player and current head coach of Oulun Kärpät Naiset in the Naisten Liiga (NSML). She was a right winger with the Finnish national ice hockey team during 1994 to 2003 and won bronze in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano.
Marika Johanna Lehtimäki is a Finnish retired ice hockey player and former member of the Finnish national ice hockey team. She played 83 international matches with the national team and was on the bronze medal winning rosters in the women's tournament at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano and at the IIHF Women's World Championships in 1990, 1992, and 1994. With the Finnish national team she also won four IIHF European Championship medals, three gold and one bronze.
Liisa-Maria Sneck is a Finnish retired ice hockey goaltender. She played with the Finnish national ice hockey team during 1988 to 1998 and won three IIHF European Women Championship gold medals, four IIHF Women's World Championship bronze medals, and a bronze medal at the inaugural Olympic women's ice hockey tournament at the 1998 Winter Olympics.
Rosa Lindstedt is a Finnish ice hockey player and member of the Finnish national team, currently serving as captain of Brynäs IF Dam in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL).
Terhi Eveliina Mertanen is a Finnish retired ice hockey defenceman and current head coach of TPS Naiset in the Naisten Liiga. She was a member of the Finnish national ice hockey team for thirteen seasons and won bronze medals in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2010 Winter Olympics and at the IIHF Women's World Championships in 2004 and 2011.
The national program for women's ice hockey in Finland had 5,858 active players in 2019. The Finnish Ice Hockey Association organizes both the national women's program and the three levels of domestic women's leagues in Finland.
Anna Kilponen is a Finnish ice hockey defenceman, currently signed with the Metropolitan Riveters of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) for the 2022–23 season. She played four seasons of college ice hockey in the NCAA Division I, two seasons with the North Dakota Fighting Hawks and two seasons with the Quinnipiac Bobcats. Following her college career, she has played in the Swedish Women's Hockey League (SDHL) with Linköping HC Dam, in the Finnish Naisten Liiga (NSML) with the Tampereen Ilves Naiset, and in the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL) with the KRS Vanke Rays.
Meeri Räisänen is a Finnish ice hockey goaltender and member of the Finnish national ice hockey team, currently playing in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Connecticut Whale. As a member of the Finnish national team, she won Olympic bronze medals in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2018 Winter Olympics and the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2022 Winter Olympics, World Championship bronze medals in 2015 and 2021, and was named to the World Championship All-Star Team in 2015 and 2016.

Maija Johanna Hassinen-Sullanmaanée Hassinen is a Finnish retired ice hockey goaltender and the current goaltending coach and team manager of HPK Kiekkonaiset in the Naisten Liiga. As a member of the Finnish national team, she participated in the women's ice hockey tournament at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin and in the IIHF Women's World Championships in 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2011, winning bronze medals at the tournaments in 2008, 2009, and 2011.
Naisten Liiga, also called the Naisten SM-liiga (NSML) and Jääkiekon naisten SM-liiga, is the elite league for women's ice hockey in Finland. Founded by the Finnish Ice Hockey Association as the Naisten SM-sarja in 1982, it was so known until being rebranded as the Naisten Liiga in 2017. The league comprises approximately 250 players across ten teams.

The 2020–21 Naisten Liiga season was the thirty-eighth season of the Naisten Liiga, Finland's elite women's ice hockey league, since the league’s creation in 1982. The season began, as scheduled, on 5 September 2020, making the Naisten Liiga the first women's national ice hockey league in Europe and, quite likely, in the world to return to play for the 2020–21 season.
Katariina "Kati" Ahonen is a Finnish retired ice hockey goaltender. A ten-season member of the Finnish national ice hockey team, she won bronze medals at the IIHF Women's World Championships in 1992 and 1994, and participated in five IIHF European Women Championships, winning gold at the tournaments in 1989, 1991, 1993, and 1995, and bronze at the 1996 tournament.
