Ratu Tika Bravani (born in Denpasar, on 17 February 1990), better known as Tika Bravani, is an Indonesian model and actress of mixed Bantenese and Minangkabau descent.

Biography

Early life

Ratu Tika Bravani was born in Denpasar, Bali from Bantenese father named Tubagus Zubir Ramadhan and Minangkabau mother named Kemalia Dewi. [1] The Ratu first name is the Bantenese noble title which is pinned to the female descendants of the first sultan of Banten, Maulana Hasanuddin patrilineally derived from the father who has a first name Tubagus as noble title. [2]

Since sixteen years old, Tika Bravani had parted ways with her father because her parents divorced and she chose to live with her mother, Kemalia Dewi. [3] On 30 July 2014, Bravani's mother died at the fourth day of Eid al-Fitr after a long battle with cervical cancer. [4] Before she died, Dewi told Bravani to get married soon. [5]

Education

Although born in Bali, Tika Bravani spent her childhood in Jakarta. She was a graduate of SMP Labschool Kebayoran in 2005, after which she continued to SMA Negeri 70 Jakarta. Graduated from high school, she continued her studies in Accountancy majors Faculty of Economics, University of Indonesia. [6] In 2013, Tika Bravani successfully completed her studies and earned her bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Indonesia with a GPA of 3.4. [3]

Personal life

On 7 August 2016, Tika Bravani married Dimas Aditya, [7] her co-star on the sitcom program titled Saya Terima Nikahnya on NET TV. [8] Wedding reception held in Cilandak, South Jakarta with a mixture of Minangkabau and Bantenese culture which is packed with a touch of semi-modern and semi-formal shades. [9] Based on the Minangkabau culture that embraced the matrilineal system, Dimas Aditya is given the title of Sutan Marajo of the Bravani family. [9] A few months after marriage, Bravani suffered a miscarriage when she was three weeks pregnant. [10]

Sitti Nurbaya: Kasih Tak Sampai is an Indonesian novel by Marah Rusli. It was published by Balai Pustaka, the state-owned publisher and literary bureau of the Dutch East Indies, in 1922. The author was influenced by the cultures of the west Sumatran Minangkabau and the Dutch colonials, who had controlled Indonesia in various forms since the 17th century. Another influence may have been a negative experience within the author's family; after he had chosen a Sundanese woman to be his wife, Rusli's family brought him back to Padang and forced him to marry a Minangkabau woman chosen for him.

Ratu was an Indonesian music duo formed in 1999 with Maia Estianty, then the wife of musician Ahmad Dhani, on instruments and Pinkan Mambo on vocals. Ratu entered the Indonesian musical scene with their first album, Bersama. After a short break caused by Mambo's departure in 2004, the group formed anew with Mulan Kwok as vocalist. This new line-up proved more successful, with their most successful songs – "Teman Tapi Mesra" and "Lelaki Buaya Darat" ("Womaniser") – released in this period; both song titles later became common terms in the Indonesian vocabulary. The group's second studio album, No. Satu, sold 200,000 copies on the day of its release, a record for an album by an Indonesian female group. The group dissolved in 2007.
