Tilman Singer (born 1988) is a German filmmaker best known for writing and directing the 2018 horror film Luz and the 2024 horror thriller film Cuckoo .

Career

Singer began his career as a commercial director and attended the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. [1] After directing the short films The Events at Mr. Yamamoto's Alpine Residence and El fin del mundo, his senior thesis film, Luz , debuted at the 2018 Berlin International Film Festival. [2] [3] In 2024, his second feature film Cuckoo premiered at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival. [4]

Cuckoo is a 2024 horror film written and directed by Tilman Singer, and starring Hunter Schafer, Jan Bluthardt, Marton Csokas, Jessica Henwick, and Dan Stevens. A co-production between Germany and the United States, the film follows a teenager (Schafer) who moves to the German Alps to live with her father (Csokas) but becomes disturbed by strange occurrences as her father's boss (Stevens) embroils her family in a sinister plot.
