Tim Coppens is a Belgian fashion designer who currently lives and works in New York City. He is an ANDAM [1] and LVMH Prize finalist, [2] as well as three time CFDA nominee, and winner of the 2014 CFDA/Swarovski Award for Best Emerging Menswear Designer.

Founded in 1989 under the initiative of the French Ministry of Culture and the DEFI by Nathalie Dufour, ANDAM Fashion Award commonly known as ANDAMAssociation Nationale pour le Développement des Arts de la Mode is dedicated to supporting young designers and reinforcing Paris influence, as the world fashion capital. To this end, ANDAM Fashion Award brings together institutional and major private actors of this cultural industry to develop coordinated strategies and transversal actions. In addition to winning ways with a sustainable development and global visibility, it opens the doors of Official calendar of Paris Fashion Week, and is distinguished by its determination to boost the fashion industry in France.

Council of Fashion Designers of America

The Council of Fashion Designers of America, Inc.(CFDA), founded in 1962 by publicist Eleanor Lambert, is a not-for-profit trade association of over 450 American fashion and accessory designers. The first president of the Council was Sydney Wragge. As of June, 2019, Tom Ford is the group's chairman. He follows Diane von Furstenberg who served as chairman for 13 years. Steven Kolb is the CEO and president since 2006. The organization's stated mission is to strengthen the influence and success of American designers in the global economy.

Career

Born and raised in Belgium, Tim Coppens graduated from the internationally acclaimed Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp in 1998. Apart from his services to various luxury and athletic brands as Adidas and Ralph Lauren, Coppens founded his own namesake fashion label in 2011 which is sold globally. Barneys New York immediately ordered his first collection and international retailers suit, including Isetan (Japan), Lane Crawford (Hong Kong), Matches (London), Mr Porter (Online) and Dover Street Market (London). Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Antwerp) Art academy in Antwerp

The Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp is an art academy located in Antwerp, Belgium. It is one of the oldest of its kind in Europe. It was founded in 1663 by David Teniers the Younger, painter to the Archduke Leopold Wilhelm and Don Juan of Austria. Teniers was master of the Guild of St Luke — which embraced arts and some handicrafts — and petitioned Philip IV of Spain, then master of the Spanish Netherlands, to grant a royal charter to establish a Fine Arts Academy in Antwerp. It houses the Antwerp Fashion Academy.

Antwerp is a city in Belgium, and is the capital of Antwerp province in Flanders. With a population of 520,504, it is the most populous city proper in Belgium, and with a metropolitan area housing around 1,200,000 people, it's the second largest metropolitan region after Brussels in Belgium.

Adidas German multinational corporation

Adidas AG is a multinational corporation, founded and headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Germany, that designs and manufactures shoes, clothing and accessories. It is the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe, and the second largest in the world, after Nike. It is the holding company for the Adidas Group, which consists of the Reebok sportswear company, TaylorMade golf company, 8.33% of the German football club Bayern Munich, and Runtastic, an Austrian fitness technology company. Adidas' revenue for 2018 was listed at €21.915 billion.

His collections blend the highest degree of craftsmanship and tailoring with athletic inspired innovation. [5]

Tim Coppens has been strongly praised by press. WWD selected him as part of the "Ten of Tomorrow Rising Stars" and "One of the 40 under 40 Designers disrupting Fashion and Retail", while The Business of Fashion named him "1 of the 6 Emerging Fashion Brands Worth Investing In". [6]

Coppens has also gained consistent recognition from the industry including Ecco Domani Award for "Best New Menswear Designer" (2012), Fashion Group International "Rising Star of the Year" Award (2013), CFDA Swarovski Award for "Emerging Menswear Designer of the Year" (2014). LVMH Prize Finalist (2014), ANDAM Finalist (2016) and CFDA "Menswear Designer of the Year" Nominee (2016/2017).

Since the brand's inception, Tim Coppens has been on the forefront of redefining Menswear [7] and most recently was invited to present his Fall 2017 Collection as guest designer at the prestigious Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy. [8] [9]

His brand is influenced by his multicultural upbringing and his international education in fashion. His design of a women's evening gown was featured on the runway of the 2019 Met Gala evening.

Rag & Bone is an American fashion label helmed by Marcus Wainwright, originally from Britain. The brand is sold in more than 700 shops around the world, as well as in Rag & Bone retail stores.

Patrik Ervell is an American-born menswear designer based in New York City. Ervell is a graduate of University of California, Berkeley where he studied political science, economics and art history.

Simon Spurr British Fashion designer

Simon James Spurr is a British fashion designer based in New York City. Spurr has received critical acclaim for the clothing line he launched in 2006 which is credited with revitalizing and modernizing classical menswear. He is currently the creative director of Eidos.

Alexandre Plokhov is a Russian-born American clothing designer. He created designs for the Cloak and Versace labels before creating his own brand in 2011.

Haus Alkire is an American fashion label headed by design partners Julie Alkire and Jason Alkire. Both the Alkires are members of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). Established in 2012, the line is made in New York City.
