Timber Creek Airstrip ( IATA:TBK, ICAO:YTBR) is a remote airstrip, located near the small remote town of Timber Creek in the Northern Territory. The airstrip is used as an emergency landing area for RFDS aircraft, and for public use. The airstrip has an access road off the Victoria Highway. [1]

It was founded in 1928 as India's first civil aviation airport, In 1932, JRD Tata landed at the Juhu Aerodrome, inaugurating India's first scheduled commercial mail service. Juhu served as the city's primary airport during and up to World War II. In 1948, commercial operations were moved to the much larger RAF Santacruz which was built 2 km east of Juhu aerodrome during the war.

Emkaytee Airfield, also known as MKT Airfield is a private airport in the Northern Territory of Australia located in the locality of Weddell, Northern Territory about 40 km (25 mi) south of the territory capital of Darwin City. Predominately used for recreational flying by ultralight aircraft, Emkaytee also provides flight training, aircraft maintenance and fuel supplies. Timber Creek, traditionally known as Makalamayi, is an isolated small town on the banks of the Victoria River in the Northern Territory of Australia. The Victoria Highway passes through the town, which is the only significant settlement between the Western Australia border and the town of Katherine to the east. Timber Creek is approximately 600 kilometres (370 mi) south of Darwin, in an area known for its scenic escarpments and boab trees.

Eucla Airport is an airstrip in Eucla, Western Australia. It has one runway that is 1369 m long. It has a Traffic Pattern Altitude of 305 m. It is mostly used by the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia, who completed 84 medical evacuations from the airstrip between 2009 and 2014. There is an ongoing campaign to upgrade the flood-prone airstrip. When it is unusable, aircraft must land on the nearby Eyre Highway.

Heritage Creek Airstrip is a privately owned public airport in Rhome, Wise County, Texas, United States, that also serves the city of Decatur, being located approximately 9 nautical miles (17 km) southeast of the central business district. The airport has no IATA or ICAO designation.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Naval Air Station Livermore Outlying Fields</span> 1940s US Navy runways in California

Naval Air Station Livermore has nearby airfield landing strips to support the training of US Navy pilots during World War 2. The airfield are called Naval Outlying Landing Field (NOLFs). For the war many new trained pilots were needed. The Naval Outlying Landing Fields provided a place for pilots to practice landing and take off without other air traffic. The remotes sites offered flight training without distractions. Most of the new pilots departed to the Pacific War after training. The Outlying Landing Fields had little or no support facilities. Naval Air Station Livermore opened in 1942 and closed in 1951. The Outlying field closed in 1945, having completed the role of training over 4000 new pilots. To open the needed Outlying Landing Fields quickly, the Navy took over local crop dusting and barnstorming airfields.
