Saint Joseph's University is a private Jesuit university in Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township,Pennsylvania. The university was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1851 as Saint Joseph's College. Saint Joseph's is the seventh oldest Jesuit university in the United States and the sixth largest university in Philadelphia. It is named after Saint Joseph.

Creighton Preparatory School is a private,Jesuit high school for boys in Omaha,Nebraska,United States. It was established in 1878 under the name Creighton College and is located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Omaha. Creighton College was founded by John A. Creighton and named after Edward Creighton,developer of the transcontinental telegraph line. It was founded from a $100,000 grant and donated to the Catholic Church,leading to its inception as a Jesuit institution. Creighton College separated into Creighton University and Creighton Preparatory School in 1958. Over the 142 years since its founding,Creighton Prep has grown from an initial class of 120 students to a student body of 1021 individuals (2016).
William P. Leahy is the 25th President of Boston College,a post he has held since 1996,making him the longest serving president in the school's history as of July 31,2020. He was born in Omaha,Nebraska and raised in Imogene,Iowa. He joined the Society of Jesus in 1967,and is a member of the Jesuits' Midwest Province. Leahy earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy and a master's degree in United States history at Saint Louis University in 1972 and 1975,respectively. He then began studies at the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley in Berkeley,California,where he earned degrees in theology (1978) and historical theology (1980). He was ordained a priest in 1978. He received a doctoral degree in U.S. history from Stanford University in 1986.

Scott R. Pilarz was an American Jesuit priest and academic. He served two stints as president of the University of Scranton,first from 2003 to 2011 and again from 2018 until 2021. Pilarz was announced as the successor of Kevin Quinn on March 21,2017,serving until his death in 2021. Prior to returning to Scranton,Pilarz served as the president of Marquette University and Georgetown Prep.
The Saint Joseph's Hawks are the athletic teams that represent Saint Joseph's University of Philadelphia,Pennsylvania. The Hawks compete in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association as a member of the Atlantic 10 Conference and of the Philadelphia Big 5. The school also has intramurals and extramurals,the latter of which compete with the City 6. The school is mostly known for its men's basketball team. The Hawk became the school's mascot in 1929. It first flapped its wings at a basketball game in 1956 in a win over La Salle University. The Saint Joseph's school colors are crimson and gray.

The Creighton University School of Medicine is the graduate medical school at Creighton University in Omaha,Nebraska,United States,and grants the Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. It was founded in 1892. A satellite campus opened in 2012 at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix,Arizona,becoming the first Jesuit medical program west of Omaha. All matriculating students complete preclinical coursework in Omaha,and 42 third-year students complete their clinical rotations in Phoenix,with elective options at both campuses during their fourth year.
John P. Schlegel,S.J. was the 23rd president of Creighton University from 2000 to 2011. He formerly served as 26th president of the University of San Francisco from 1991 until 2000.
John Patrick Raynor was a Catholic priest of the Jesuit order and the twentieth president of Marquette University in Milwaukee,Wisconsin. Raynor managed Marquette University from 1965 to 1990,which is the longest tenure of any president in Marquette's history. C. Kevin Gillespie, S.J. is an American academic and Jesuit priest who served as the 27th president of Saint Joseph's University from 2012 to 2015. He succeeded Timothy R. Lannon. Gillespie graduated from St. Joe's in 1972 and is native to the Philadelphia area.

Daniel S. Hendrickson is the 25th president of Creighton University starting on July 1,2015,until the present. He was previously the Associate Provost for Academic Initiatives at Marquette University.
Edward Ignatius Devitt was a Canadian American priest,Jesuit,and historian of the American Catholic Church. Born in Saint John,New Brunswick,he moved with his family to Boston,Massachusetts,at a young age. He studied in public schools in the city before enrolling at the College of the Holy Cross. Devitt spent two years there,and then entered the Society of Jesus in 1859. He studied at the novitiate in Frederick,Maryland,and at the newly opened Woodstock College. He briefly taught at the Washington Seminary during his studies,and after graduating,was a professor for the next thirty years at Holy Cross,Woodstock,and Georgetown University.
