The politics of Kenya take place in a framework of a presidential representative democratic republic,whereby the President of Kenya is both head of state and head of government,and of a multi-party system in accordance with a new constitution passed in 2010.
The Bukusu people are one of the seventeen Kenyan tribes of the Luhya Bantu people of East Africa residing mainly in the counties of Bungoma and Trans Nzoia. They are closely related to other Luhya people and the Gisu of Uganda. Calling themselves BaBukusu,they are the largest tribe of the Luhya nation,making up about 34% of the Luhya population. They speak the Bukusu dialect.

Mbuvi Gideon Kioko, commonly known as Mike Sonko or simply Sonko,is a Kenyan politician. He served as the second Governor of Nairobi. He was removed from the office of the governor by a form of impeachement by the Senate of the Republic of Kenya on Abuse of Office,Gross Misconduct and Crimes under National Law on 17 December 2020. He becomes the second governor in Kenya to be impeached after Kiambu's Ferdinand Waititu.

The Supreme Court rejected Cord's petition and declared Kenyatta the president-elect.
Ekwee David Ethuro is a Kenyan politician. He was elected as the first Speaker of the modern Kenyan Senate on 28 March 2013. From 1998 to 2013 he served as a Member of Parliament representing Turkana Central. He also served as the Assistant Minister for Planning and National Development from 1998 to 2002 under the government of President Daniel arap Moi. He was re-elected as Member of Parliament for Turkana Central in the 2007 general elections and steered the proceedings of the 10th Parliament in the position of acting Speaker of the House whenever the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker were absent.
