Fatuma Ibrahim Ali (Somali :Fadumo Cibraahiim Cali) is a Kenyan politician. [1] She has been a Commissioner of the Kenya National Commission on Human Rights. [2] Ali was a Member of the 11th Session of the Kenyan Parliament representing the Wajir County. She was elected to the position in March 2013 on an Orange Democratic Movement ticket. [3] She is currently a member of the 4th Assembly (2017- 2022),of the East African Legislative Assembly [4] representing Kenya. She is of Somali ethnicity.
The East African Community (EAC) is an intergovernmental organisation composed of six countries in the African Great Lakes region in eastern Africa:Burundi,Kenya,Rwanda,South Sudan,Tanzania,and Uganda. Uhuru Kenyatta,the president of Kenya,is the EAC's chairman. The organisation was founded in 1967,collapsed in 1977,and was revived on 7 July 2000. The EAC is an integral part of the African Economic Community. The capital of the EAC is Arusha,while the most populous city is Dar es Salaam,both of which are in Tanzania.
The North Eastern Province is one of the former provinces in Kenya. It has a land area of 127,358.5 km2,with its capital at Garissa. Britain administration left the Northern Kenya to the control of Kenyan Government. It is and has been inhabited by most Kenyan ethnicities including ethnic Somalis.

The Hawiye is a one of the largest Somali clan family. Members of this clan traditionally inhabit central and southern Somalia,the Somali Region and the North Eastern Province. They are also the majority in the capital city,Mogadishu.
The Dir is one of the largest and most prominent Samaale clans in the Horn of Africa. They are also considered to be the oldest Somali stock to have inhabited the region. Its members inhabit Djibouti,Somaliland,Somalia,Ethiopia,and northeastern Kenya.

Dekha Ibrahim Abdi was a Kenyan peace activist based in Mombasa,Kenya. She worked as a consultant to government and civil society organisations. She was of Somali ethnicity.
The Abdiaziz Abdinur Ibrahim controversy began in February 2013 when journalist Abdiaziz Abdinur Ibrahim interviewed Lul Ali Osman,who claimed that she was raped by government security forces while living in an internally displaced peoples camp in Mogadishu,Somalia. The two were arrested,tried,and sentenced to a year in prison for having allegedly fabricated the story. The trial was described by some human rights groups as politically motivated. Osman was later in the month acquitted following an appeal,and Ibrahim's sentence was reduced to six months. It was concurrently announced that an Independent Task Force on Human Rights had been established,which would review his case to see if due process has been followed. Ibrahim was released from detention the following month,on 17 March 2013.
The Somali–Kenyan conflict has been an issue within Kenya since the colonial period. Problems have ranged from petty skirmishes between the two communities and have led to terrorist attacks,police harassment,extortion,home invasions,physical violence,and massacres perpetrated against the Somali-Kenyan community in mainly Kenya.

Fatuma Adan Dullo is a Kenyan politician and the current elected Senator for Isiolo County as well as the Deputy Majority Leader –Senate of the Republic of Kenya. Fatuma Dullo made history after being among the first three female senators to be elected as well as the only one from the Northeastern Region. She is a lawyer and an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and previously served in various capacities in the public sector and in civil society. Her expertise is in public administration,governance and human rights advocacy. Her interests include human rights and education particularly of marginalised groups,community mobilisation and capacity-building.
