The National Party of Kenya is a political party in Kenya. In the legislative elections of 27 December 2002, the party was a partner in the National Rainbow Coalition that won 56.1% of the popular vote and 125 out of 212 elected seats. The party itself took six of these seats. In the presidential elections of the same day, the party supported Mwai Kibaki, who won 62.2% and was elected.
Lamu County is a county of Kenya located along the North Coast of the country and is one of the six Coastal Counties in Kenya. Its capital is the town of Lamu. It borders Tana River County to the southwest, Garissa County to the north, Somalia to the northeast, and the Indian Ocean to the South.

Under the Constitution 2010, the role of districts are still unclear as much of administrative authority is being transferred to the county. The capital is Siaya, even though the largest town is Bondo.

Nyandarua County is a County in the former Central Province of Kenya with its capital and largest town being Ol Kalou. Formerly the capital was Nyahururu, which is now part of the Laikipia County. Jeremiah Ngayu Kioni is a Kenyan politician. He was elected to represent the Ndaragwa Constituency until 2013 in the National Assembly of Kenya in the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. He was re-elected in 2017. Jeremiah Kioni issued a threat of PNU pulling out of the Grand Coalition because of what he termed continued frustration by the ODM party over Mwai Kibaki judiciary nominations. He is a friend of Jamleck Irungu Kamau.
Edwin Ochieng Yinda is a Kenyan politician. He belongs to the Orange Democratic Movement party and was elected to represent the Alego Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. He was in the 2013 Kenyan parliamentary election by George Washington Muluan Omondi, making him the second one-term member of parliament in the region after KANU's Peter Okudo of 1969.
Samuel Losuron Poghisio is a Kenyan politician serving as the incumbent Majority Leader of the Kenyan Senate. Alego Constituency is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of six constituencies of Siaya County. The constituency was established for the 1963 national elections. It is also known as Alego-Usonga Constituency. The constituency has 13 wards, of which five elect councillors for the urban Siaya municipality and the rest seven for the rural Siaya County Council.
The men's marathon at the 2008 Summer Olympics took place on 24 August at 7:30am in Beijing, ending in the Beijing National Stadium. It was the last time in Summer Olympics history that the start and/or finish of the men's marathon route was located inside the Olympic Stadium. Ninety-five athletes from 56 nations competed. The winner of the event was Samuel Wanjiru of Kenya, who set an Olympic record in the time of two hours, six minutes, and 32 seconds. It was Kenya's first victory in the men's marathon. Morocco won its first medal in the event since 1960, with Jaouad Gharib's silver. Tsegay Kebede of Ethiopia took bronze.

The Inspector-General of Police abbreviated as IGP, is the highest ranked officer of the Kenya Police Force, responsible for commanding and leading the Kenya Police. He is also in charge of overall and independent command and matter of the National Police Service. The position was established in 1964 as the Commissioner of Police. It was renamed to Inspection General of Police in 2012, to serve as the head of the two Police bodies of Kenya for a four-year term. The Kenya Police Service and the Administration Police Service is also headed by a Deputy Inspector- General. He is appointed by the President of Kenya and approved by the Parliament. The current Inspector General is Hillary Mutyambai, who is the third holder of the IGP position.
Vahit Kirişci is a Turkish politician. He served as the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry from 4 March 2022 to 4 June 2023. He was elected as Member of Parliament from Kahramanmaraş for the Justice and Development Party in the 2023 elections.
