The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is a centre-left political party in Kenya. It is the successor of a grassroots people's movement that was formed during the 2005 Kenyan constitutional referendum campaign. This movement separated in August 2007 into the Orange Democratic Movement Party of Kenya and the Wiper Democratic Movement –Kenya.
Kwale is a small town in and the capital of Kwale County,Kenya. It is located at around 4°10′28″S39°27′37″E;30 km southwest of Mombasa and 15 km inland. The town has an urban population of 10,063. It is next to the Shimba Hills National Reserve.
Mohammad Shahabuddin was a politician and former Member of Parliament from the Siwan constituency in the state of Bihar. He was a former member of the National Executive Committee of the Janata Dal and the Rashtriya Janata Dal. Shahabuddin was disqualified from contesting elections following his conviction for the kidnapping and disappearance of Chote Lal Gupta,an activist of the Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) Liberation for which he was serving a life sentence. He was also accused of killing 15 other Communist Party activists,including the former student leader Chandrashekhar Prasad.

The 10th Parliament of Kenya saw the National Assembly opened on 15 January 2008. This following the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) of Raila Odinga winning a majority in the 2007 parliamentary elections. Raila was a candidate in the presidential elections,which resulted in a controversial victory for Mwai Kibaki of the Party of National Unity. The opening of the parliament was fraught with jeers,cheers and brawls between the opposing parties;Mwai Kibaki was greeted by the ODM members with silence and boos,while Raila was greeted by PNU members with accusations of genocide.
Kipkalya Kiprono Kones was a Kenyan politician who served as a minister during the 1990s and was briefly Minister of Roads in 2008. He was a member of the National Assembly of Kenya from 1988 to 2008.
Peter Anyang' Nyong'o is a Kenyan politician and author who is the Governor of Kisumu County. He is a former Secretary-General of Orange Democratic Movement. Professor Nyong'o was the acting party leader from March 11 until late May when Raila Odinga was in the United States and was elected to the National Assembly of Kenya in the December 2007 parliamentary election,representing the Kisumu Rural Constituency. He was the Minister for Medical Services and previously the Minister for Planning &National Development. He previously served as the Senator of Kisumu from 2013 to 2017.
Hassan Ali Joho is a Kenyan politician and the former Governor of Mombasa County affiliated with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). He was also elected to represent the Kisauni Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya during the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election. On 4 March 2013,during the general election,Joho was elected as the first governor of Mombasa County. In the 2017 General Elections held on 8 August,Joho retained his seat on an ODM ticket. Despite significant politically engineered setbacks,Joho emerged triumphant by winning with 220 576 votes against his closest rival Suleiman Shahbal with 69 322 votes,Suleiman was a member of the Jubilee Party. Joho served as governor of Mombasa until 2022 when he completed the constitutionally allowed two five-year terms. He was succeeded by Abdulswammad Sherrif Nassir the former member of the National Assembly for Mvita Constituency.
Mwalimu Masudi Mwahima was a Kenyan politician. He belonged to the Orange Democratic Movement and was elected to represent the Likoni Constituency in the National Assembly of Kenya since the 2007 Kenyan parliamentary election.
Aden Bare Duale is a Kenyan politician currently serving as the Cabinet Secretary for Defence in the cabinet of President William Ruto,having assumed the position on 31 October 2022.

Changamwe Constituency is an electoral constituency in Mombasa County,Kenya. It used to be one of the four constituencies in Mombasa district. With the promulgation of the new constitution in August 2010,it saw the creation of two more constituencies in Mombasa County. These are Jomvu and Nyali Constituencies which were curved out from Changamwe and Kisauni Constituencies respectively thereby bringing a total of six constituencies in 2012.
Belgut is an electoral constituency in Kenya. It is one of six constituencies of Kericho County. The constituency was established for the 1963 elections. A new Constituency Sigowet-Soin was curved out of this Constituency in 2013 after the promulgation of the new constitution (2010).

Samuel Arama is a Kenyan politician who has served as a member of the National Assembly for the Nakuru Town West constituency since 2013. He is a member of the Jubilee Party,having previously represented the Orange Democratic Movement.

Abdullswamad Sheriff Nassir is a Kenyan politician. He is the governor of Mombasa County. He was elected on an ODM ticket under Azimio la Umoja,One Kenya Alliance in the 2022 General Election. He earlier served as Member of Parliament (MP) for Mvita Constituency from 2012 to 2022).
Badi Twalib is a Kenyan politician and member of the Kenyan parliament elected from Jomvu constituency on the ticket of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). First elected to the 11th parliament in 2013,he serves on the parliamentary committees of Regional Integration and Joint Parliamentary Broadcasting and Library.
Salid Idd Mustafa was a Kenyan broadcast journalist and politician who was a member of the 11th Kenyan parliament elected from Kilifi South Constituency on the ticket of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). He died in 2020 from suspected COVID-19 complications.
