Ne Win, born Shu Maung, was a Burmese army general, politician and military commander who served as Prime Minister of Burma from 1958 to 1960 and 1962 to 1974, and also President of Burma from 1962 to 1981. Ne Win was Burma's military dictator during the Socialist Burma period of 1962 to 1988.

The University of Yangon, located in Kamayut, Yangon, is the oldest university in Myanmar's modern education system and the best known university in Myanmar. The university offers mainly undergraduate and postgraduate degrees programs in liberal arts, sciences and law. Full-time bachelor's degrees were not offered at the university's main campus after the student protests of 1996. The bachelor's degree was re-offered from 2014 on. Narawara was king of Toungoo dynasty of Burma (Myanmar), who ruled for about 11 months between 1672 and 1673. Narawara ascended to the Burmese throne after his father Pye died in 1672. But Narawara died young and was succeeded by his brother Minyekyawdin.

Pe Khin was a Burmese diplomat. He was one of the main negotiators at the Panglong Conference in Burma and the architect of the historical Panglong Agreement.

Trương Tấn Sang is a Vietnamese politician, who served as the eighth President of Vietnam from 2011 to 2016. He was one of Vietnam's top leaders, alongside prime minister Nguyễn Tấn Dũng and Party general secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng. Za Hlei Thang was a Burmese politician who was elected Member of Parliament as the Chin National League for Democracy candidate in the 1990 Myanmar general election. After the 1990 election, he fled Burma after the State Law and Order Restoration Council accused him of breaking the 1962 Printers and Publishers Registration Act, Article 20. While in exile, he served as Chairman of the Chin League for Democracy, a "Chin party in exile". He also served as Minister of Social Welfare and Development and Minister of Health and Education at the National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma which is a "government in exile" led by Dr. Sein Win. He also served as Chairman of the Chin National Front which is a Chin insurgent group in Myanmar (Burma). He dedicated his life in the Chin national movement.

Tin Latt is the Burmese politician and former Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism of Myanmar (Burma). On 21 October 2019, he was nominated to be Deputy Minister for Hotels and Tourism in President Win Myint's Cabinet.

Alinkar Kyawswa is the highest national honor of recognition of an individual for their artistic skills by the government of Myanmar. From 1949 to 2022, there were about 57 recipients of this award in Myanmar.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Kyaw Moe Tun</span> Burmese diplomat (born 1969)

Kyaw Moe Tun is a Burmese diplomat who currently serves as the Permanent Representative of Myanmar to the United Nations. Prior to his appointment to UN, he had served as director-general of International Organizations and Economic Development Department under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from 2016 to 2018.

Thein Maung was a Burmese politician and a medical doctor. He was the first Burmese ambassador to Japan and was one of the 21-leader members of the YMBA and the GCBA.
