Tiny Dancers were an English band formed in Sheffield by vocalist (and acoustic guitarist) David Kay, guitarist Chris "Ev" Etherington, bassist Dez Wathey, drummer Duncan "Zed" Morrison, and keyboardist (also percussionist and guitarist) David Glover. [3] They formed in 2005 and were later signed to Parlophone.

In 2006, they supported various artists such as Bob Dylan and Babyshambles, and released an EP called "Lions and Tigers and Lions". In March 2007, they released their first single "I Will Wait For You". Later that year, they released their sole album Free School Milk and played at several festivals including Glastonbury.

History

2005

In February 2005, the band began rehearsing together. [3] Its members had previously played in other bands across the South Elmsall, South Kirkby and Brierley area. [4]

2006

In 2006, the group toured with Richard Ashcroft and opened for Bob Dylan. [5] They played at Brighton's The Great Escape festival in May of that year. [6]

On 10 January, they supported Babyshambles at The Plug in Sheffield. [7] On 20 November, they released an EP entitled "Lions and Tigers and Lions". [5]

2007

On 12 February 2007, they supported Larrikin Love at Shockwaves NME Awards Show in London, performing the final song together. [1] On 19 March, they released their first single "I Will Wait For You". [3] It reached #36 in the UK Singles Chart. [8]

On 20 April, they played at Camden Crawl festival. [9] In June, they toured with Slow Club. [10]

On 11 June, they released their sole album Free School Milk . [11] It was produced by John Leckie, [11] and peaked at #64 in the UK Albums Chart. [12]

On 24 June, they played the John Peel Stage at Glastonbury Festival. [13] On 12 August, they played the Indoor Stage at Leicester's Summer Sundae festival. [14] In September, they performed at the Loopallu Festival in Ullapool, Scotland. [15]

Fatboy Slim British DJ, musician and record producer

Norman Quentin Cook, also known by his stage name Fatboy Slim, is an English musician, DJ and record producer who helped to popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s. In the 1980s, Cook was the bassist for the Hull-based indie rock band the Housemartins, who achieved a UK number-one single with their a cappella cover of "Caravan of Love". After the Housemartins split, Cook formed the electronic band Beats International in Brighton, who produced the number-one single "Dub Be Good to Me". He then played in Freak Power, Pizzaman, and the Mighty Dub Katz with moderate success.

Pete Doherty English musician, actor, and poet (born 1979)

Peter Doherty is an English musician, songwriter, actor, poet, writer, and artist. He is best known for being co-frontman of The Libertines, which he formed with Carl Barât in 1997. His other musical projects are indie band Babyshambles and Peter Doherty and the Puta Madres.

<i>The Remote Part</i> 2002 studio album by Idlewild

The Remote Part is the third studio album by Scottish rock band Idlewild, released on 15 July 2002 by Parlophone. As they were becoming increasingly aware of their label's interest in them and their demos, the band's musical direction was being steered by guitarist Rod Jones. For the first half of 2001, the band recorded songs with producers Stephen Street and Lenny Kaye. Due to the uneven nature of the songs done between tours, they spent some time reworking 20 tracks in the Scottish Highlands. They recorded at Rockfield Studios in Wales, RAK Studios in London, and Sawmills Studios in Cornwall with producer Dave Eringa. Described as an alternative rock and indie rock record, it lacked the punk rock elements of their previous work.

Babyshambles

Babyshambles were an English rock band established in London. The band was formed by Pete Doherty during a hiatus from the Libertines. As of 2013 the band includes Mick Whitnall, Drew McConnell and Adam Ficek. Babyshambles have released three albums—Down in Albion (2005), Shotter's Nation (2007) and Sequel to the Prequel (2013)—three EPs and a number of singles.

Carl Barât Musical artist

Carl Ashley Raphael Barât is a British musician and actor, best known for being the co-frontman with Pete Doherty of the garage rock band The Libertines. He was the frontman and lead guitarist of Dirty Pretty Things, and in 2010 debuted a solo album. In 2014 he announced the creation of his new band, The Jackals.

Coffee & TV 1999 single by Blur

"Coffee & TV" is a song by the British rock band Blur. It was written by the band's guitarist, Graham Coxon, who also sang lead vocals rather than frontman Damon Albarn. The song appears on Blur's sixth studio album, 13 (1999), and was the second single released from the album on 28 June 1999. The lyrics describe Coxon's struggle with alcoholism and the song's video, featuring a sentient milk carton searching for Coxon, won several awards. Commercially, "Coffee & TV" reached No. 11 in the United Kingdom and No. 26 in Ireland. It was a major hit in Iceland, where it peaked at No. 2 in September 1999.

The Joe Strummer Foundation

The Joe Strummer Foundation is a non-profit organisation which promotes the development of new music. It was established in memory of punk rock singer and guitarist Joe Strummer shortly after his death in December 2002. Strummer's widow Lucinda was the principal founder along with their daughters, Jazz and Lola Mellor, and English artist Damien Hirst. The organisation was known as Strummerville until December 2014.

Klaxons English band

Klaxons were an English band, based in London. Following the release of several 7-inch singles on different independent record labels, as well as the success of previous singles "Magick" and "Golden Skans", the band released their debut album, Myths of the Near Future on 29 January 2007. The album won the 2007 Nationwide Mercury Prize. After playing festivals and headlining tours worldwide during late 2006–07, the band started working on their follow-up album in July 2007. Klaxons' second album, Surfing the Void, was released on 23 August 2010. Their third album, Love Frequency, was released on 16 June 2014.

The Blinding EP is an EP by English indie rock band Babyshambles. It was the band's first release since signing with major record label Parlophone. The EP was released on 4 December 2006 in the United Kingdom to positive critical reviews by that label's offshoot Regal Records and on 5 December in the United States by Capitol Records. The EP entered the official UK Albums Chart at #62 on 11 December 2006, while the title song entered the download chart at #77. A week later, an entry on band's official MySpace blog stated that had a fifth track not been added to make the EP ineligible in the UK Singles Chart, "The Blinding" would have entered that chart at #4. As with their debut album, Pete Doherty designed the artwork for the EP.

Free School Milk is the first album by the English band Tiny Dancers. It was released on 11 June 2007 in the UK.

Joe Lean & The Jing Jang Jong

Joe Lean & the Jing Jang Jong were an English indie rock band based in London. Although the band attracted considerable press attention following the 2007 release of their debut single "Lucio Starts Fires" they failed to capitalise on this, and disbanded in 2010. The band are perhaps best known for failing to ever release their critically acclaimed debut album.

"Delivery" is a song by the English band Babyshambles. It is the second track on the band's second album called Shotter's Nation. The song first appeared in demo form. On 19 August NME announced it would be giving away a free copy of the demo on 7" vinyl on the week of 12 September.

Hurts are an English musical duo formed in Manchester in 2009, consisting of singer Theo Hutchcraft and multi-instrumentalist Adam Anderson. They have released five studio albums: Happiness (2010), Exile (2013), Surrender (2015), Desire (2017) and Faith (2020). Their first two albums both reached the top 10 in several countries.
