Tiny Troopers is a top-down squad-based multidirectional shooter developed by Finnish studio Kukouri Mobile Entertainment and published by Chillingo, Iceberg Interactive and Game Troopers. [1] It was released on 7 June 2012 for iOS and on 24 August 2012 for PC. The game is available on iOS, Android, Windows, OS X and Windows Phone. [2] The game puts you in command of a team of troopers (soldiers) which are guided through various objectives in 30 levels of increasing difficulty.
Tiny Troopers uses a tapping/clicking system to move and shoot enemies and enemy buildings to complete a mission. A drag and drop mechanism is used to activate special weapons such as grenades, bazookas, and airstrikes. [3] During each level, the player will face various challenges and will be required to complete objectives such as freeing hostages, protecting journalists, survival and eliminating enemy troops. Before starting a mission, a player may select the difficulty of that mission and purchase upgrades using "command points" and medals. Players are also given a mission briefing stating the objective of the level and can suggest which specialist(s) to hire for the next mission. Troops that survive a level will be promoted and will subsequently become stronger, [4] while troops that are killed will be replaced by new recruits and the Command Points gained by the fallen troop are subsequently forfeited. During a mission, the player can use the support menu to call for drop packages such as med-packs, grenades, an airborne (only after taking casualties), bazookas, airstrikes or an intel pack which reveals the location of enemies and collectibles on the map to be deployed. The player also has the opportunity to check the objectives of the mission on the map.
Command points are a form of currency that can be obtained and accumulated by killing enemy units, enemy buildings, completing missions or picking up collectibles during gameplay. However, command points can also be purchased using real-world money through in-app purchases. [5] Medals are used to unlock new training packages, which permanently increase the characteristics of your soldiers. They can be collected during gameplay by completing missions, or obtained through in-app purchases using real-world money.
In "zombie mode", the objective is to survive waves of zombies. As each wave is completed, larger numbers of stronger zombies spawn. The game supplies the user with medipacks and airdrops containing special weapons such as grenades, airstrikes, and bazookas. Unlocked soldiers are enclosed in barricaded areas and can be freed as the waves progress to increase the size of your squad. [6]
Kukouri Mobile Entertainment was inspired by the 1993 video game Cannon Fodder . The game was released on iOS on June 7, 2012, [7] It was ported to Windows and Macintosh on August 24, 2012. [8]

Tiny Troopers received mixed reviews for the PC version and positive reviews for the iOS version. [10] [9]
Gamezebo's Al Dellinger was generally impressed by Tiny Troopers. However, he felt that because you can't control troops individually, one might seldom get stuck behind an obstacle. Dellinger also suggests that the humor is not for everyone, as certain moments feel too "real" for the game, like when a shot enemy is still alive on the ground asking for a mercy-kill. In conclusion, Dellinger says "this is an excellent title. It’s a blast, the controls are smooth, and the missions are unique." [3]
Pocketgamer's Harry Slater thought "Tiny Troopers isn't interesting enough to hold your attention for very long". [11] He felt the game did not include enough tactical decisions and detaches yourself from feeling as if you are part of an elite squad. [11] Both Slater and Dellinger feel that a formation option would come in handy to split the squad around enemy flanks. [11] [3]
GameSpot's Nathan Meunier feels the game is better suited for mobile devices. He mentions that the control actions on the PC are not as smooth as it is on mobile. To activate special weapons, the user has to press the Ctrl key to temporarily toggle your special weapon which makes it difficult while trying to shoot and maneuver around at the same time. However, Meunier feels positive about "the way power-ups tie directly into the scoring mechanic. Racking up kills and collecting loot earns you command points that you can spend to temporarily boost your fighting capabilities and call in reinforcements". [1]

Call of Duty 2 is a 2005 first-person shooter video game developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision in most regions of the world. It is the second installment of the Call of Duty series. Homeworld is a real-time strategy video game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Sierra Studios on September 28, 1999, for Microsoft Windows. Set in space, the science fiction game follows the Kushan exiles of the planet Kharak after their home planet is destroyed by the Taiidan Empire in retaliation for developing hyperspace jump technology. The survivors journey with their spacecraft-constructing mothership to reclaim their ancient homeworld of Hiigara from the Taiidan, encountering a variety of pirates, mercenaries, traders, and rebels along the way. In each of the game's levels, the player gathers resources, builds a fleet, and uses it to destroy enemy ships and accomplish mission objectives. Star Wars: Battlefront is a series of first- and third-person shooter video games based on the Star Wars franchise. Players take the role of characters from the franchise in either of two opposing factions in different time periods of the Star Wars universe. Star Wars: Battlefront is a 2004 first and third-person shooter video game based on the Star Wars film franchise. Developed by Pandemic Studios and published by LucasArts, it is the first game in the Star Wars: Battlefront series. It was released on September 21, 2004, for PlayStation 2, Xbox and Microsoft Windows to coincide the release of the Star Wars Trilogy DVD set. It is also available for purchase on both the Xbox 360 and Xbox One through their backwards compatibility features. Aspyr released a Mac OS X port in July 2005, and a cellular phone version, Star Wars Battlefront Mobile, was released November 1, 2005. A sequel, Star Wars: Battlefront II, was released on November 1, 2005, for Windows, Xbox, PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable. The game is primarily played as a conquest game, however other modes such as Galactic Conquest bring strategy elements to the title.

Sniper Elite V2 is a 2012 third-person tactical shooter stealth video game developed and published by Rebellion Developments. It is the sequel to its 2005 predecessor Sniper Elite, which takes place in the same timeframe and location—the Battle of Berlin in April–May 1945—but with an altered narrative. The game's story follows an American OSS officer who must eliminate a group of scientists involved in the German V-2 rocket program before the Red Army captures them. Another sequel named Sniper Elite III was released in 2014. A remastered version for Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One was released on May 14, 2019.

Dead Trigger 2 is a zombie-themed first person survival horror video game was developed and published by Madfinger Games, later acquired by DECA Games. It was released for Android and iOS devices on October 23, 2013, and for Facebook on February 20, 2014. As with the original Dead Trigger, Dead Trigger 2 is a single-player zombie-themed shooter. XCOM 2 is a 2016 turn-based tactics video game developed by Firaxis Games and published by 2K Games. It is the sequel to 2012's reboot of the series, XCOM: Enemy Unknown; it takes place 20 years after the events of Enemy Unknown. Brothers in Arms 3: Sons of War is a 2014 World War II-era third-person shooter video game developed by Gameloft with partnership with Gearbox Software and published by Gameloft. It was released on December 17, 2014, for the iOS, Android and Windows Phone. The game serves as a sequel to Brothers in Arms: Hour of Heroes and Brothers in Arms 2: Global Front and it is still set during World War II. It is part of the Brothers in Arms series.
Doctor Who: Legacy was a match-3 puzzle RPG video game released on 27 November 2013 and based upon the BBC television programme Doctor Who. The game was developed by American company Seed Studio in collaboration with British company Tiny Rebel Games. It is a free-to-play game released to coincide with the 50th Anniversary of the popular sci-fi show, with rights licensed by BBC Worldwide. The game launched focusing on the Eleventh Doctor, then later shifted the focus to the Twelfth Doctor, following his debut in the show. New characters and content were added to the game regularly upon them being "signed off" with both the actors and the BBC brand team.
