Kart racing or karting is a motorsport discipline using open-wheel, four-wheeled vehicles known as go-karts or shifter karts. They are usually raced on scaled-down circuits, although some professional kart races are also held on full-size motorsport circuits. Karting is commonly perceived as the stepping stone to the higher ranks of motorsports. Most modern Formula One drivers, including Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, Kimi Räikkönen, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Nico Rosberg, and Max Verstappen, have begun their racing careers in karting.
Oliver "Oli" Oakes is a British former racing driver, entrepreneur and team principal and director of Hitech GP. In July 2024 he was announced as Alpine F1 Team Principal for the remainder of the 2024 season onwards. He was the 2005 World Karting champion, and was once a part of the Red Bull Junior Team.

He is the first Filipino to win a formula race in Europe, winning race 9 of the 2010 Formula Renault 2.0 UK Championship at the Croft Circuit on 19 June of that year.
Nicholas Jon Yelloly is a British professional racing driver, Acura works driver, who is set to compete for Acura Meyer Shank Racing in the 2025 IMSA SportsCar Championship and for Inter Europol Competition in the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans and 2025 European Le Mans Series.
