Latisha Tawana "Tish" Hyman, [2] [3] commonly known as Tish, [4] [5] is an African-American singer-songwriter, rapper and record producer.

Early life

Hyman was born and raised in the Bronx, [6] [7] where she began battle rapping at an early age. [8] [9]

Career

Beginnings

In 2010 Hyman moved to Los Angeles, California and began writing songs for other artists. [10] In 2011 she wrote a song for Ahsan Watts which helped him get signed to Interscope, and gave Hyman recognition as a songwriter. [8] She subsequently landed a publishing deal at Universal Music Publishing Group and went on to write songs with Alicia Keys, Diddy, Kanye West and Kelly Rowland. [10] [11]

Single release and EP

Hyman's first single, Subway Art, was released on March 3, 2015, [12] and the video premiered on The Fader on April 27, 2015. [11] The song, which describes the struggles of those who use the New York City subway trains on a daily basis, [7] brought stylistic and vocal comparisons to Lauryn Hill. [6] [8] [13] Her second single, "Home For Christmas", premiered on Vibe and on Ebro Darden's radio show on December 15, 2015. [14]

She was featured on Fabolous' 2015 single You Made Me [6] [8] and on Dom Kennedy's 2015 single "2 Bad". She was the first female rapper in 2015 to successfully complete the "5 Fingers of Death" freestyle challenge on Sway in the Morning on Sirius XM. [15] [16] She wrote Ty Dolla Sign's "Horses in the Stable" off his 2015 album Free TC . [17]

Hyman's debut EP, Dedicated To, was released on July 12, 2016, [18] with production by Bink, William Larsen, Timothy Bloom, Dave Kuncio, Nate Walka and others. [8] [11] [12]

Touring

She opened for Jill Scott on the US leg of her 2015 tour. [19] [20]

"The Distance" is a song by American singer-songwriter Mariah Carey featuring fellow American singer-songwriter Ty Dolla $ign. It was released by Epic Records on October 18, 2018, as the second promotional single from Carey's fifteenth studio album Caution. It was included with the pre-order of the record. A lyric video was released on November 16, 2018, along with its parent album's release. "The Distance" was written by the artists alongside Skrillex, Poo Bear, and Lido, with the latter three producing the song with Carey.

"Everything We Need" is a song by American rapper Kanye West from his ninth studio album, Jesus Is King (2019). The song features guest appearances from American singers Ty Dolla Sign and Ant Clemons, and additional vocals by the Sunday Service Choir. It was come up with during a freestyle session in the fall of 2018, inspired by a conversation West had with Clemons about Jesus and religion. The song was recorded as a new version of the leaked track "The Storm".

Joshua Omaru "YG" Marley is an American singer and songwriter. He is the son of rapper and singer Lauryn Hill and former American football player Rohan Marley, and the grandson of reggae pioneer Bob Marley. He is best known for his 2023 debut single "Praise Jah in the Moonlight", which entered the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, and peaked within the top ten in the United Kingdom, New Zealand, Norway, and Sweden. He has collaborated with Busta Rhymes, Chloe Bailey, and Davido, appearing on the latter's 2024 single "Awuke".
