To the Orphic Void is the third studio album by the Argentine/Swedish band Tersivel. The album was released on 11 February through Uprising! Records.
The album deals with the concept of death and how this can be philosophically approached from different angles. The lyrics refer to Orphism as well as Pythagorean metempsychosis but only as metaphors or allegories to explore the concept. On the booklet's second page the following text is included:
Inhabiting this record could be both a cathartic and dramatic experience. There are no shortcuts in life, and yet, there's one clear destination to us all. Shared by everyone. Common to each little living thing that dances to the music of Nature. Death, and the mystery of its power over us, embodies our way of living, our way of passing through this Time tunnel. It also embodies how we deal with sorrow, depression, addiction, loneliness and anxiety, to maybe, as Rilke beautifully put it, to find in art a way to transform the emptiness, the radical deficiency, of human longing into something else. Orpheus, our poet hero, is no more than a mere metaphor. The mythical landscapes of the underworld, the stage. The tears of Hades, the ink. The boat of Charon, a ship for our limitations.
To promote the album, on 26 November 2021, Tersivel released the song "Weeping Iron Tears". [3] A few weeks later, on 7 January 2022, the band released the song "The Ferryman". [4]
The album was generally well-received critically. Gardenstale of Angry Metal Guy explained in the review, "The emotional depth is stronger, the songwriting more varied. Tersivel has a freshness, a willingness to experiment". [5] Andy Spoon of Metal Epidemic, gave the album a total score of 4.5 out of 5; "Tersivel has found a vibe which is both invigorating and entertaining through its curtain of noise and harmony. Managing to be both sticky and smooth at the same time". [6] Musclassia of Metal Storm, gave the album a total score of 7.8 out of 10; "To The Orphic Void finds that sweet spot between making your influences clear while still producing a result that sounds fresh and exciting, and backs it up with memorable songs". [7]

They are considered one of the pioneering acts of the Gothenburg metal scene, which also includes bands such as In Flames and At the Gates - regarded as the Gothenburg fathers in the film entitled Out of Nothing: A DT Documentary released by Century Media, which was filmed in their home town in April 2009. After a nearly three-decade long collaboration of four founding members frequent lineup changes between 2016 and 2021 have left only vocalist Mikael Stanne as an original member, together with long-time keyboardist Martin Brändström.

Bullet for My Valentine, often abbreviated as BFMV, are a Welsh heavy metal band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. The band is currently composed of Matthew Tuck, Michael Paget, Jason Bowld (drums) and Jamie Mathias. Former members include Michael Thomas, Jason James and Nick Crandle; the latter were on bass. They were formed under the name Jeff Killed John and started their music career by covering songs by Metallica and Nirvana. Jeff Killed John recorded six songs which were not released; two of these tracks were reworked later in their career as Bullet for My Valentine. A change of style from that of Jeff Killed John led the band to change their name. In 2002, the band secured a five-album deal with Sony BMG. The band has stated that their music is influenced by classic metal acts such as Metallica, Iron Maiden and Slayer. The band is part of the Cardiff music scene.

Their work has drawn variously on styles such as sludge metal, drone, noise, psychedelia, and minimalism. Boris has released more than 20 studio albums on various labels around the world, as well as a variety of live albums, compilations, EPs, singles, and collaborative albums. They have collaborated with acts such as Sunn O))), Merzbow, Keiji Haino, and guitarist Michio Kurihara.
Norma Jean is an American metalcore band from Douglasville, Georgia, a suburb of Atlanta. Since their inception in 1997, numerous lineup changes have left the band with no original members. To date, Norma Jean has released nine studio albums and received a Grammy Award nomination in 2006 for Best Recording Package for their second album O' God, the Aftermath. The band's name is derived from the real name of actress Marilyn Monroe.
Confusion Bay is the second album by Danish metal band Raunchy. It was recorded at Hansen Studios in July 2003 and produced by Jacob Hansen. The album gained great reviews and is by many still considered to be the best Raunchy album.
During the recordings, Raunchy did a cover track of Faith No More's "From Out of Nowhere," which was released in 2007 on Velvet Noise Extended.
Craft is a Swedish black metal band, originally formed under the name "Nocta" in 1994. As Nocta they recorded an unreleased demo in 1997 and subsequently changed their name to "Craft". While musically inspired by early black metal acts such as Burzum and Darkthrone, as well as heavy metal bands such as Black Sabbath and Celtic Frost, their lyrics focus on misanthropy, destruction, hate, Anti-Cosmic Satanism and death resembling the older lyrics of melodic black/death metal band Dissection. After drummer Daniel Halén decided to quit the band in 2005, the remaining members briefly considered putting the band on indefinite hold, but decided to continue and address his replacement in the future. In 2008 Dirge Rep joined the band on session basis to work on the drums for the coming album which was released in August 2011. They released their fifth album White Noise and Black Metal on 22 June 2018.
Architects are a British metalcore band from Brighton, East Sussex, formed in 2004 by twin brothers Dan and Tom Searle. The band now consists of Dan Searle on drums, Sam Carter on vocals, Alex Dean on bass, and Adam Christianson on guitar. They have been signed to Epitaph Records since 2013.
