Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor, known professionally as Lorde, is a New Zealand singer and songwriter. Taking inspiration from aristocracy for her stage name, she is known for employing unconventional musical styles and thoughtful songwriting. Born in the Auckland suburb of Takapuna and raised in neighbouring Devonport, Lorde expressed interest in performing at local venues in her early teens. She signed with Universal Music Group in 2009 and collaborated with producer Joel Little in 2011 to start recording material.
Lights Poxleitner-Bokan is a Canadian musician, singer and songwriter from Timmins, Ontario. She is known for singles "Drive My Soul", "February Air", "Ice", "Second Go", "Toes", and "Up We Go". She was awarded the 2009 Juno Award for New Artist of the Year and two 2009 Astral Media Radio awards during Canadian Music Week. As a recording artist, she stylizes herself mononymously as Lights.

Born in Cambridge and raised in Start Hill, Essex, she began posting songs on Myspace in 2008, which led to her discovery by a promoter who invited her to perform at warehouse raves and parties. Cigarettes After Sex is an American dream pop band formed in El Paso, Texas, in 2008, founded by Greg Gonzalez. While marketed as an ambient pop band, Cigarettes After Sex are also considered to be shoegaze, ambient pop, slowcore and indie rock.

Sex & Cigarettes is the ninth studio album by American singer Toni Braxton. It was released on March 23, 2018, by Def Jam Recordings.
