Anthony John Arnerich (born December 14,1979) is an American baseball coach for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball.
A California native,Arnerich left the state after junior college to continue his education in Texas. After his junior year there,he contracted with the Kansas City Royals and played for minor league baseball teams in Iowa,Delaware,and Kansas from 2001 to 2004. Arnerich then joined the Florida Marlins and played minor league in North Carolina and Florida in 2004 and 2005.
Returning to California,Arnerich began coaching for college teams in 2006 and earned a bachelor's degree in 2008. He coached a collegiate summer team in Minnesota from 2007 to 2009. Arnerich joined the Mariners in 2014,and was designated a hitting coach for 2022.
Arnerich graduated from Montgomery High School in Santa Rosa,California,in 1998. He attended Santa Rosa Junior College for two years and then transferred to Texas Tech University to play college baseball for the Texas Tech Red Raiders. [1] After his junior season,he signed a free agent contract with the Kansas City Royals organization. [2] In the summer seasons of 2001 and 2002,Arnerich played for the Burlington Bees. [3] [4] In 2002 and 2003,he was with the Wilmington Blue Rocks,and in 2003 and 2004 it was the Wichita Wranglers. [5] He played in the Florida Marlins organization before retiring as a player, [1] with the Carolina Mudcats and Greensboro Bats in 2004,and the Jupiter Hammerheads in 2004 and 2005. [5]
Arnerich became an assistant coach in 2006 at Sonoma State University, [1] where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology in 2008. [6] [7] He coached for the St. Cloud River Bats summer team from 2007 to 2009, [7] and the California Golden Bears from 2007 to 2014,during which the team went to the College World Series in 2011. In 2014,he joined the Seattle Mariners organization, [6] as a hitting and catching coordinator beginning in 2017. [8] The Mariners promoted Arnerich to minor league field coordinator in 2020, [6] and major league hitting coach for the 2022 season. [9]
Arnerich has coarctation of the aorta,a narrowing of the artery from the heart. He received a mechanical valve in 2012,but developed a staph infection near the device in 2013. In October 2013,his doctors said a second surgery to replace the valve was necessary,with only a 50/50 chance of his surviving it. A later CT scan showed the infection had cleared,however,and Arnerich returned to work in January 2014. [10]
During a COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in spring 2020,Arnerich joined other Mariners players in posting video drills to encourage kids to continue in baseball activity. Arneric's fielding drill video included his young son and daughter. [11] [12]
Christopher Michael Woodward is an American former professional baseball utility player,coach and manager. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Toronto Blue Jays,New York Mets,Atlanta Braves,Seattle Mariners,and Boston Red Sox,from 1999 through 2012. He then served as a coach for the Mariners and Los Angeles Dodgers,from 2014 through 2018 and managed the Texas Rangers from 2019 to 2022. He is currently a special assistant and roving instructor for the Dodgers.
William Joseph Haselman is an American professional baseball coach and former player. He played as a catcher in Major League Baseball (MLB) for 13 seasons between 1990 and 2003. A first-round selection in the 1987 MLB draft,he played for the Texas Rangers,Seattle Mariners,Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. He previously was the bullpen coach and first base coach for the Red Sox and the third base coach for the Los Angeles Angels. He has also served as a manager in Minor League Baseball.
Ryan Francis Garko is an American former professional baseball outfielder,first baseman,and designated hitter. In college,he was a catcher. He played for the Cleveland Indians,the San Francisco Giants,and the Texas Rangers in Major League Baseball as well as the Samsung Lions in the Korea Baseball Organization. Garko was seen by former ESPN reporter John Sickels as a good hitter who hit to all parts of the field,but with poor defensive instincts. Through 2010,he had a .275 career average,427 hits,55 home runs,and 250 RBI in 463 games.
Paul Anthony Sorrento is an American former professional baseball first baseman. From 1989 through 1999,Sorrento played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Minnesota Twins,Cleveland Indians,Seattle Mariners and Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He previously served as the hitting instructor in the Los Angeles Angels coaching staff.
Brant Michael Brown is an American former professional baseball outfielder and current bench coach and offensive coordinator for the Seattle Mariners of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in MLB from 1996 through 2000 for the Chicago Cubs,Pittsburgh Pirates and Florida Marlins and has also coached for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He also played college baseball for the Fresno State Bulldogs.

Ryan Marcus Long is a former Major League Baseball player. Long played for the Kansas City Royals during the 1997 season. In six games Long had two hits in nine at-bats,with two RBIs. He played right field,batting and throwing right-handed. He was drafted by the Royals in the second round of the 1991 amateur draft. Although he played in only six games for the Royals,Long spent ten seasons playing at various levels in the minor leagues. While playing baseball for Dobie High School in Texas,Long and the Longhorns lost a playoff game against a team in which future New York Yankee,Andy Pettitte played.
