Anthony Degrate (born April 25, 1962) is an American former professional football player who was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL) for a single season in 1985. He played college football for the Texas Longhorns, earning consensus All-American honors in 1984. He was selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 1985 NFL draft, and played professionally for the NFL's Green Bay Packers.
Degrate was born in Snyder, Texas. [1] He attended Snyder High School, [2] and played high school football for the Snyder Tigers.
He received an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Texas at Austin, where he played for coach Fred Akers' Texas Longhorns football team from 1981 to 1984. [3] He was a first-team All-Southwest Conference (SWC) selection in 1983 and 1984, and was a key member of the 1983 Longhorns team that won the SWC championship and finished 11–1. [3] As a senior team captain in 1984, he led the team in tackles and quarterback sacks, was recognized as a consensus first-team All-American, and won the Lombardi Award honoring the best lineman in college football. The Cincinnati Bengals drafted Degrate in the fifth round of the 1985 NFL draft. [5] He played in a single professional game for the Green Bay Packers during the 1985 season. [6]
Sam Adams is an American former professional football player who was a defensive tackle for 14 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Texas A&M Aggies, earning consensus All-American honors, and was selected eighth overall by the Seattle Seahawks in the 1994 NFL draft. Following six seasons as a member of the Seahawks, he earned consecutive Pro Bowl selections and All-Pro honors during his two seasons with the Baltimore Ravens. Adams was also part of the team that won a Super Bowl title in Super Bowl XXXV and made another championship appearance in his one season for the Oakland Raiders in 2002. As a member of the Buffalo Bills from 2003 to 2004, Adams was named to a third Pro Bowl. He spent his last two seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and the Denver Broncos.
Cedric Myron Benson was an American professional football player who spent eight years as a running back in the National Football League (NFL) for the Chicago Bears, Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers. He played college football for the Texas Longhorns and won the Doak Walker Award in 2004. He was selected by Chicago with the fourth overall pick in the 2005 NFL draft.

George Edward Cumby is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker for eight seasons in the National Football League (NFL) during the 1980s. He played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners, thrice earning All-American honors, including a unanimous selection in 1979. A first-round pick in the 1980 NFL draft, Cumby played professionally for the Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, and Philadelphia Eagles of the NFL. He played college football for the Michigan Wolverines, principally as a defensive tackle, from 1981 to 1985. He was selected as a consensus All-American in 1985. Hammerstein played in the NFL for the Cincinnati Bengals from 1986 to 1987 and 1989 to 1990. He appeared in 56 NFL games, two of them as a starter at defensive end.

Prior to that he was an All-American for the Texas Longhorns and then was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the first round of the 1984 NFL draft with the sixth overall pick.
The 1977 Texas Longhorns football team represented the University of Texas at Austin in the 1977 NCAA Division I football season. The Longhorns finished the regular season with an 11–0 record. Earl Campbell won the Heisman Trophy in 1977 and led the nation in rushing with 1,744 yards. In 1977, he became the first recipient of the Davey O'Brien Memorial Trophy, which was awarded to the most outstanding player in the now-defunct Southwest Conference. He was selected as the Southwest Conference running back of the year in each of his college seasons and finished with 4,444 career rushing yards. Rothman (FACT), a mathematical rating system in use since 1968 and NCAA-designated major selector, selected Texas as co-national champions with Notre Dame and Arkansas.
