Tony Luke Kocherry (born 10 November 1985) is an Indian actor who predominantly appears in Malayalam films. [1] He began his career as a fashion model and later forayed into cinema, debuting with Oozham (2016) in a negative role. In 2019, Tony made his Bollywood debut with a supporting role in the crime thriller Badla (2019), starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu. [2] [3]
Tony was born to Thresia Kocherry and Luke Kocherry on 10 November 1985, at Kochi, Kerala in India. He is an IT engineering graduate from the PES University in Bangalore and a post-graduate in International Business Administration (IBA) from Regent's Business School London. Tony attended The Choice School, Ernakulam where he was active in sports.
The actor started modelling at the age of 19 in Bangalore while in college. In 2005, he debuted as an international model represented by Major Model Management in Milan, Italy. [4]
In 2014, Tony played a minor role in an experimental short film named Karma Cartel , which went on to win awards and honors in various film festivals across the globe. [5]
He made his film debut in 2016 with the Malayalam film Oozham directed by Jeethu Joseph and starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead. [6] Tony's performance met with critical acclaim for his portrayal of the 25 year old character Andrew Wilfred-Marcus. After the success of Oozham, Tony played the role of the antagonist in the political thriller Sakhavu (2017) directed by Sidhartha Siva, starring Nivin Pauly in lead. Tony received positive reviews for his portrayal of the sadistic, cruel 40-year-old character of a manager who enslaves workers on the tea estates of pre-independent India. [7]
In 2018, Luke starred in Naam , a campus story, where he played a 22-year-old. [8] In the same year, he went on to appear as a 30-year-old computer hacker in commercial blockbuster Aadhi , directed by Jeethu Joseph, starring Pranav Mohanlal in the lead. [9] [10] [11] In 2019, The actor was seen in Science Fiction Psychological thriller 9 starring Prithviraj Sukumaran and directed by Jenuse Mohammad. [12]
On March 8, 2019, Luke made his Hindi Bollywood debut in a prominent supporting role in the crime thriller Badla directed by Sujoy Ghosh starring Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu. [13] [14] The film went onto gross 100 crores in the Indian domestic Box office. [15]

Jeethu Joseph is an Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer who predominantly works in Malayalam cinema. He has also worked in a few Tamil, Hindi and Telugu films. Jeethu made his directional debut with the 2007 police procedural, Detective. He is best known for creating the Drishyam franchise. Drishyam became the highest-grossing Malayalam film ever, at its time of release. It was the first Malayalam film to cross the ₹50 crore mark, at the box office. Drishyam 2 was released directly through Amazon Prime Video, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Like the prequel, it was highly acclaimed and appreciated, worldwide.

Priyadarshan is an Indian film director, producer, and screenwriter. Oozham : It's Just A Matter Of Time is a 2016 Indian action thriller film written and directed by Jeethu Joseph. The film stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, Anson Paul, Jayaprakash, Balachandra Menon, Pasupathy, Neeraj Madhav and Divya Pillai. Shamdat Sainudheen handled the cinematography. The film was shot simultaneously in Malayalam and Tamil. Odiyan (transl. Shapeshifter) is a 2018 Indian Malayalam-language fantasy drama film directed by V. A. Shrikumar Menon in his feature film debut. The film was written by Harikrishnan; it is based on the legend of the Odiyan clan, who in Kerala folklore are men believed to possess shapeshifting abilities and can assume animal forms. Odiyans are said to have inhabited the Malabar region of Kerala before the widespread use of electricity. It marks the first regional Indian film production and distribution of Sony Pictures and the debut of Prithviraj Productions.
Badla (transl. Revenge) is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language mystery thriller film directed by Sujoy Ghosh and starring Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Tony Luke and Amrita Singh. The film is produced by Universal Entertainment, Red Chillies Entertainment and Azure Entertainment and is an official remake of the 2016 Spanish film The Invisible Guest. The story follows an interview between a lawyer and a businesswoman, in which the latter insists that she is being wrongfully framed for the murder of her lover.
