Anthony Gerard "Tony" Lupton (born 10 January 1957) is an Australian former politician. He was the Labor Party member for Prahran in the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 2002 to 2010.

Lupton was born in Melbourne and educated at Christian Brothers College, St Kilda. After leaving school he became an apprentice motor mechanic. In 1978, he returned to school at Caulfield Institute of Technology, successfully completed the Higher School Certificate and gained entrance to an Arts/Law degree course at Monash University.
After graduating he worked as a barrister, specialising in personal injuries cases for injured workers.
Lupton was elected to the Victorian Parliament at the 2002 state election, when he defeated the sitting Liberal member for Prahran, Leonie Burke.
At the 2006 state election, he was elected for a second term defeating a Liberal candidate, Clem Newton-Brown. After the election he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary for Industry and Innovation. In August 2007 he was appointed Cabinet Secretary in the new Brumby Labor Government.
At the 2010 state election, Lupton was defeated in a rematch with Newton-Brown.
In December 2024, Lupton announced he would run as an independent candidate in the 2025 Prahran state by-election, following the resignation of Greens member Sam Hibbins and the Labor Party's decision to not field a candidate. [1]

Following his service in the Victorian Parliament, Lupton was a professorial fellow at Monash University.
He was appointed a sessional member of the Victorian Mental Health Tribunal and the Firearms Appeals Committee in 2016 and in March 2017 was appointed as full-time senior legal member of the Mental Health Tribunal.
He has written widely on historic and classic cars, including a regular column for RoyalAuto magazine until 2017 and articles for Fairfax, Retroautos and other publications.
Since 2015 he has been secretary of Automotive Historians Australia, a not-for-profit association dedicated to preserving and sharing knowledge about our automotive heritage.
Tony owns a 1967 Ford Mustang, a 1970 MGB GT and a 1974 Alfa Romeo GT Junior. He is a member of the Mustang Owners Club, the MG Car Club, the Alfa Romeo Owners Club and the Victorian Historic Racing Register and enjoys competing in circuit sprints, hillclimbs, motorkhanas and khanacross in his MG.
He is the partner of Julie Szego, journalist and author. Tony and Julie have two daughters.
Lupton is a supporter of the Collingwood Football Club in the Australian Football League.

The Division of Higgins is an Australian Electoral Division in Victoria for the Australian House of Representatives. The division covers 41 km2 (16 sq mi) in Melbourne's inner south-eastern suburbs. The main suburbs include Armadale, Ashburton, Carnegie, Glen Iris, Kooyong, Malvern, Malvern East, Murrumbeena, Prahran and Toorak; along with parts of Camberwell, Ormond and South Yarra. Though historically a safe conservative seat, Higgins was won by the Liberal Party by a margin of just 3.9 percent over the Labor Party at the 2019 election, the closest result in the seat’s history. It then flipped to Labor in the 2022 election.
Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera is an Italian automobile coachbuilder. Originally established in Milan in 1925, Carrozzeria Touring became well known for both the beauty of its designs and patented superleggera construction methods. The business folded in 1966. In 2006 its brands and trademarks were purchased and a new firm was established nearby to provide automotive design, engineering, coachbuilding, homologation services, non-automotive industrial design, and restoration of historic vehicles.
Raymond John Groom is an Australian lawyer and former sportsman and politician, representing the Liberal Party in the Federal Parliament 1975–84 and the Tasmanian Parliament 1986–2001. Giuseppe Bertone, also called "Nuccio", was an automobile designer and constructor. He took over Carrozzeria Bertone from his father, Giovanni after World War II, growing the small business to a car building and designing powerhouse. After racing Fiat, O.S.C.A., Maserati, and Ferrari, Bertone moved to construction, agreeing to build his first car, a series of 200 MGs, at the 1952 Turin Motor Show. He drew attention at the Paris Motor Show that year with an Abarth concept, and was chosen to design the replacement for the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante. These so-called BAT cars used the Alfa Romeo 1900 Sprint chassis. Bertone is also responsible for designing the famous Lambretta GP/DL range of scooters and the Luna line of scooters.
Prahran is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Victoria. It was created by the Electoral Act Amendment Act 1888, taking effect at the 1889 elections. The electorate is the state’s smallest by area, covering a little under 11 km2 in the inner south-east of Melbourne. It includes the suburbs of South Yarra, Prahran and Windsor, as well as parts of Southbank, St Kilda and St Kilda East.
Martin Philip Pakula is an Australian former politician. He has been a Labor Party member of the Parliament of Victoria from 2006 to 2022: in the Legislative Council for Western Metropolitan Region from 2006 to 2013, and then in the Legislative Assembly for Lyndhurst (2013–2014) and Keysborough (2014–2022).

Neil Patrick O'Keefe is a retired Australian politician and lobbyist. Born in Melbourne, he was educated at La Trobe University and then Monash University before becoming a teacher, union official and small business proprietor. In 1984, he was elected to the Australian House of Representatives as the Labor member for Burke. On 24 March 1993 he was appointed Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Transport and Communications. On 24 December 1993 this portfolio became Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Industrial Relations and Transport. On 24 March 1994 he became Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Transport, a position he held until Labor's electoral defeat in 1996. O'Keefe retired unexpectedly in 2001, after he'd been preselected to run again in the election scheduled that year.
Leonie Therese Burke, née Hemingway is a former Australian politician. She was the Liberal member for Prahran in the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1996 to 2002.
Peter Argyris Katsambanis is a former Australian politician. He was elected to the Western Australian Legislative Council at the 2013 state election, representing the Liberal Party, taking his seat on 22 May 2013. He resigned in 2017 to successfully contest the Legislative Assembly seat of Hillarys. At the 2021 Western Australian state election, he was defeated by Labor's Caitlin Collins. He was previously a Liberal member of the Victorian Legislative Council, from 1996 to 2002.
Clement Arundel Newton-Brown is a former Australian politician and entrepreneur who served as the member for Prahran in the Victorian Legislative Assembly.
The 2014 Victorian state election, held on Saturday, 29 November 2014, was for the 58th Parliament of Victoria. All 88 seats in the Victorian Legislative Assembly and 40 seats in the Victorian Legislative Council were up for election. The incumbent centre-right Coalition minority government, led by Liberal Party leader and Premier Denis Napthine and National Party leader and Deputy Premier Peter Ryan, was defeated by the centre-left Labor Party opposition, led by Daniel Andrews. The Greens won two lower house seats, their first Legislative Assembly seats in a Victorian state election, whilst increasing their share of upper house seats. The new Andrews Ministry was sworn in on 4 December 2014.
Nina Taylor is an Australian politician. She has been a Labor Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly, representing the district of Albert Park since November 2022. She was previously a member of the Victorian Legislative Council between 2018 and 2022, representing the Southern Metropolitan Region. She has been the Parliamentary Secretary for Training and Skills since December 2022 and was previously the Parliamentary Secretary for Health. She also served as Government Whip in the Legislative Council from October 2020 to August 2022.
A by-election for the electorate of Prahran in the Victorian Legislative Assembly is scheduled to be held on 8 February 2025 following the resignation of incumbent member Sam Hibbins, which occurred on 23 November 2024.
