Tor Lian (13 June 1945 – 14 July 2016) was a Norwegian sports official.

Lian was the president of the Norwegian Handball Federation from 1985 to 1999 and the European Handball Federation from 2004 to 2012. He was the vice president of the Norwegian Olympic Committee from 1990 to 1996 and board member of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports from 1991 to 1996. [1] He became an honorary member of the Norwegian Confederation of Sports in 2010. He died in July 2016. [2] [3]

The European Handball Federation (EHF) is the umbrella organisation for European handball. Founded on 17 November 1991, it is made of 50 member federations and two associated federations, and is headquartered in Vienna, Austria. The current EHF President is Michael Wiederer, who was elected on 17 November 2016 and will serve until 2020. The federation celebrated its 20th anniversary on 17 November 2011 at a gala event under the slogan 'HeartBeat Handball'.

Norway at the 2016 Summer Olympics

Norway competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. Since the nation's debut in 1900, Norwegian athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, except for two occasions: the sparsely attended 1904 Summer Olympics in St. Louis and the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, because of its partial support of the United States-led boycott.

Christian Mohn Norwegian ski jumper

Christian J. Mohn was a Norwegian ski jumper and sports official. His career highlights included a fourth place at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1950, a second place at the Holmenkollen Ski Festival in 1952, and a 20th place at the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 1954. He represented IL Heming and also practised golf, yacht racing, tennis, bandy and handball.

Jean Brihault

Jean Brihault was a professor at the University of Rennes 2 which he holds as position of President from 1996 to 2001. Alongside his teaching activities, he held executive positions in the world of Handball. He was the President of European Handball Federation and the vice-president of International Handball Federation from 2012 to 2016.
