Trafford College is a further education college in Trafford, Greater Manchester, England. It was formed with the merger of North Trafford College (formerly, Stretford Technical College) and South Trafford College in 2007.

Campuses and facilities

Trafford College has two campuses: Altrincham Campus and Stretford Campus, as well as a Skills Shop based at the Trafford Centre.

Altrincham Campus offers A-Levels and vocational courses in business and accountancy, childcare, creative arts and media, foundation learning, beauty and hairdressing, health and social care, hospitality, IT and computing, sport, uniformed services, tourism and aviation. On-site facilities include a fitness suite, a beauty salon and spa, a restaurant bar, and a café.[ citation needed ]

Stretford Campus is STEM Assured[ clarification needed ] and has engineering and motor vehicle workshops, an industrial robot, science labs, AMC and AM2 training centres[ clarification needed ], and other specialist teaching facilities. The campus offers vocational courses in electrical installation, electronics, engineering, engineering services for buildings, foundation learning, gas, motor vehicles, plumbing, and science. The campus also offers A Levels in applied science, biology, chemistry, English, mathematics, physics and psychology.[ citation needed ]

The Skills Shop, based at INTU Trafford Centre, offers training programmes to young people in retail, hospitality and customer service. This hub also provides employers with staff development and training.[ citation needed ]

Burton & South Derbyshire College (BSDC) is a general further education college and is situated in Burton upon Trent town centre. It attracts approximately 13,000 students from Burton and the surrounding towns and villages. It delivers a wide range of courses for all ages including 16- to 19-year-olds, adults into part-time study, employer training and higher education. Recently a 'university centre' has been developed within the college to enable students to study on franchised higher education courses, but is not in itself a university.

In March 2017 it was merged with South Cheshire College, based in Crewe, to form Cheshire College – South & West, which as of 2020 retains the Ellesmere Port and Chester campuses.

West Thames College is a medium-sized college of further and higher education in West London, England. It was formed in 1976, originally named Hounslow Borough College, having gained its current name in 1993. The college has two campuses in the London Borough of Hounslow: a main campus in Isleworth and a smaller Skills Centre in Feltham. As of 2014 there were over 5,200 enrolled students at the college. The college offers a wide range of A Levels and specialist vocational courses up to higher education level: BTECs, NVQs, City & Guilds, Foundation Degrees and HNDs.
