Trinidad and Tobago competed in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland from 23 July to 3 August 2014. [2] With the exception of the athletics squad, which was to be announced at a later date, the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee revealed that they had selected a team of 84 athletes across 13 sports. [3] On 29 June a track and field squad of 43 was named completing a team of 127 athletes.

The Trinidad and Tobago national rugby sevens team is a minor national sevens side. It has competed at the Commonwealth Sevens.
Trinidad and Tobago will compete at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico from October 14 to 30, 2011. Trinidad and Tobago will send 78 athletes in 14 sports.
Australia competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, between 23 July and 3 August 2014.
Wales competed at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland. Prior to the games the Commonwealth Games Council for Wales set itself a target of 27 medals, surpassing the 2010 total of 20 medals won in Delhi. After the withdrawal of World champion competitors Helen Jenkins, Non Stanford and Becky James, Chef de Mission Brian Davies conceded that the initial target was optimistic, but the target was actually attained by 30 July, the sixth day of the competition. Wales finished 13th in the overall medal table, but joint 8th, with Nigeria, in terms of the total medals won.

Papua New Guinea competed in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland from 23 July to 3 August 2014. Papua New Guinea participated in the Commonwealth Games for the thirteenth time. Over its previous participations, its athletes won a total of nine medals, of which two gold. Swimmer Ryan Pini, Papua New Guinea's most successful competitor with a gold in 2006 and a silver in 2010, is not competing in Glasgow, but is present as "assistant coach and mentor" for PNG's swim team.

South Africa competed in the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland from 23 July – 3 August 2014. It is the sixth occasion that South Africa has been represented at the Commonwealth Games since re-joining the Commonwealth in 1994 after a break of 33 years during the international sports isolation period. The squad is spread over 15 codes, from aquatics to wrestling.
The men's field hockey event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games was held at the Glasgow National Hockey Centre from 25 July to 3 August 2014. Australia defeated India in the final to take their fifth consecutive gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, whilst England defeated New Zealand on penalties in the bronze medal match.
