Tulane DoubleTree Classic

The Tulane DoubleTree Classic was an annual basketball tournament hosted by Tulane University at Fogelman Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana in December. The tournament started in 1996, the final edition was played in 2009.

2008

On December 21, Tulane defeated Providence 68-46 win over Providence to take the championship of the Tulane DoubleTree Classic for the 10th time in 13 seasons. Brett Benzio recorded her second double-double, with 13 points and 11 rebounds to be named tournament MVP. [1]

The 1979 NCAA Division I Basketball Tournament involved 40 schools playing in single-elimination play to determine the national champion of men's NCAA Division I college basketball. It began on March 9 and ended with the championship game on March 26 in Salt Lake City. A total of 40 games were played, including a national third-place game. This was the tournament's only edition with forty teams; the previous year's had 32, and it expanded to 48 in 1980. The 1979 Indiana State team was the most recent squad to reach a national title game with an undefeated record, holding that distinction for 42 years until the 2021 Gonzaga Bulldogs team won a 93-90 OT national semifinal over UCLA to reach the 2021 title contest vs. Baylor with a 31-0 record.

Her father Edward was also a collegiate athlete, who wrestled for Indiana. The Tulane Green Wave women's basketball team represents Tulane University in NCAA Division I college baseball. The team competes in the American Athletic Conference. They play home games on campus in Devlin Fieldhouse, the 9th-oldest active basketball venue in the nation. The team's last appearance in the NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament was in 2015.

The 2017 Southern Conference Women's Soccer Tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Southern Conference held from October 25 through November 5, 2017. The first round and quarterfinals of the tournament were held at campus sites, while the semifinals and final took place at Samford University Track & Soccer Stadium in Birmingham, Alabama. The ten-team single-elimination tournament consisted of four rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Samford Bulldogs were the defending champions, but they were eliminated from the 2017 tournament with a 2–1 semifinal loss in double overtime to the UNC Greensboro Spartans. UNC Greensboro won the tournament with a 1–0 win over the Western Carolina Catamounts in the final. The 2018–19 Gonzaga Bulldogs men's basketball team represented Gonzaga University, located in Spokane, Washington. in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. The team was led by head coach Mark Few, in his 20th season as head coach. This was the Bulldogs' 15th season at the on-campus McCarthey Athletic Center and 39th season as a member of the West Coast Conference. They finished the season 33-4, 16-0 to finish in 1st place. In the WCC Tournament, they defeated Pepperdine in the semifinals before losing in the championship game to Saint Mary’s. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament where they defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, Baylor and Florida State to make the Elite Eight. In the Elite Eight, they lost to Texas Tech.

The 2018–19 Lipscomb Bisons men's basketball team represented Lipscomb University in the 2018–19 NCAA Division I men's basketball season. They played their home games at the Allen Arena in Nashville, Tennessee and were led by 6th-year head coach Casey Alexander. They finished the season 29–8, 14–2 in ASUN play to finish in a share of the regular season championship with Liberty. They defeated Kennesaw State and NJIT to advance to the championship game where they lost to Liberty. As a regular season conference champion and No. 1 seed in their conference tournament who failed to win their conference tournament, they received an automatic bid to the National Invitation Tournament where they defeated Davidson, UNC Greensboro, NC State, and Wichita State to advance to the championship game where they lost to Texas.

The 2022 NCAA Division I Women's Basketball Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 68 teams to determine the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college basketball national champion for the 2021–22 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The 40th edition of the tournament began on March 16, 2022, and concluded with the championship game on April 3 at Target Center in Minneapolis, where the South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the UConn Huskies 64–49 to win their second NCAA title.
