Tween is a Twitter client for Microsoft Windows, written in Visual Basic .NET. It was one of the most popular Twitter clients in Japan, [2] and it was open-source.
Originally, Tween was developed for heavy users. For this reason, Tween is a Twitter client with various functions. There are web mode and API mode, and users can switch between modes. Web mode allows users to avoid API limit's operation. [3]
The first beta version was released at Hatena Diary on Nov. 21, 2007. [4] Originally web mode was an only way to get data, then API mode was implemented. 0.7.7.7 was released on Oct. 2, 2009, and API mode was set as default. [5] 1.2.0.0 or later became Proprietary software.

By default, "Luna" is preinstalled on Windows XP Home and Professional editions, "Royale" is preinstalled on Windows XP Media Center Edition and "Embedded" is preinstalled on Windows Embedded Standard 2009 and Windows Embedded POSReady 2009. In addition to the preinstalled visual styles, Microsoft has released additional ones for download. Third parties have also released visual styles, though these require modification of core Windows components to work. Visual styles are compatible with all Windows XP editions except Starter Edition.

Hatena is the collective name of the company's services. On July 19, 2001, it was founded by Junya Kondo in Kyoto. The company moved its headquarters to Shibuya, Tokyo on April 10, 2004. The headquarters were moved back to Kyoto in April, 2008.

Google Cloud Print was a Google service that allowed users to print from any Cloud Print-aware application on any device in the network cloud to any printer with native support for connecting to cloud print services – without Google having to create and maintain printing subsystems for all the hardware combinations of client devices and printers, and without the users having to install device drivers to the client, but with documents being fully transmitted to Google. Starting on July 23, 2013 it allowed printing from any Windows application, if Google Cloud Printer was installed on the machine.
Tweetbot was a third-party Twitter client developed for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS created by Tapbots LLC. It was discontinued and removed from the App Store on January 19, 2023, following a decision made by Twitter to prohibit third-party apps from its API.
