Txorierri is a valley of Biscay, Basque Country, separated from Bilbao by low mountains Monte Artxanda and Monte Abril. It includes the municipalities of Erandio, Loiu, Sondika, Derio, Zamudio, Lezama and Larrabetzu. It holds the international airport of Bilbao. It includes industrial and residential areas.

Athletic Club, commonly known as Athletic Bilbao or just Athletic, is a professional football club based in the city of Bilbao in the Basque Country in Spain. They are known as Los Leones because their stadium was built near a church called San Mamés. Mammes was an early Christian thrown to the lions by the Romans. Euskotren Trena, formerly known just as Euskotren is a commuter, inter-city and urban transit train-operating company that operates local and inter-city passenger services in the provinces of Biscay and Gipuzkoa, in the Basque Country, Spain. It is one of the four commercial brands under which Euskotren operates, as a public company managed by the Basque government. The entire 181.1-kilometre (112.5 mi) network uses 1,000 mm narrow gauge rail tracks which have been owned by the Basque Government since their transferral from the Spanish government; the rail tracks and stations were part of the FEVE network until its transferral. Euskotren Trena also operates the Donostia/San Sebastián metro under the brand Metro Donostialdea.

It was formed in 1990 when the Caja de Ahorros Municipal de Bilbao and the Bizkaiko Aurrezki Kutxa-Caja de Ahorros Vizcaína were merged. The company headquarters were in Bilbao. On 1 January 2012 it merged with other Basque financial entities, Kutxa and Caja Vital Kutxa, to form Kutxabank.
Izaskun Bilbao Barandica is a politician from the Basque Country, a region in Spain. She was the President of the Basque Parliament from 2005 to 2009, being the first woman to hold the position. She has been a Member of the European Parliament since 2009. She is affiliated with the Basque National Party, which belongs to the European Democratic Party, and sits in the Renew Europe group in the European Parliament.
