Tynningö is an island in the central area of Sweden's Stockholm Archipelago. From an administrative perspective, it is located in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County. As of 2015, the island has 380 permanent inhabitants, although this population increases significantly in summer. [1] [3]
Tynningö is linked to the city of Stockholm and the town of Vaxholm by passenger ferries of the Waxholmbolaget, which serve a number of jetties on the island, including Höganäs, Norra Tynningö, Orrlunda and Norehill. It is also linked to Norra Lagnö on the island of Värmdö by the Tynningöleden vehicle ferry route, operated by Trafikverket, which gives road access via the Skurubron bridge to the mainland. Storstockholms Lokaltrafik operates bus route 689 that provides service on the island and links to the Tynningöleden and the Waxholmbolaget ships at Höganäs and Norra Tynningö. [3] [4] [5] [6]

Uppsala Central Station is a railway station in Uppsala, Sweden. It lies on the East Coast Line, which runs south to Stockholm and north to Gävle and Sundsvall. It is also the southeastern terminus for the Dala Line which runs northwest ending in Mora. There are frequent commuter services to Stockholm. Long-distance trains, such as the SJ 3000, connect Uppsala to the northern parts of the country. Many trains, including the Stockholm commuter rail (Pendeltåg), also leave the main line to connect Uppsala with Stockholm-Arlanda Airport. Next to the station is a hub for the regional coach services operated by Upplands Lokaltrafik. Many local bus routes run through or near the station grounds as well, and there is a large area set aside for bicycle parking.
Tekniska högskolan is a station on the red line of the Stockholm metro, located in the districts Östermalm and Norra Djurgården, near the Royal Institute of Technology. The station was opened on 30 September 1973 as the northern terminus of the extension from Östermalmstorg. On 12 January 1975, the line was extended further north to Universitetet. Tekniska högskolan metro station is connected to Stockholm East Station or Stockholms östra, a station on the Roslagsbanan railway, and a terminal for buses towards Norrtälje and Vaxholm.

The Djurgården ferry is an inner city ferry route in Stockholm, Sweden. It runs from a terminal near Slussen, in the old town of Gamla Stan, to Allmänna gränd on the island of Djurgården, with an optional stop at the island of Skeppsholmen. The service is integrated into Stockholm's public transport system, as route 82, and accepts all the relevant tickets of Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL). It is operated on behalf of SL by Waxholmsbolaget and its sub-contractors, Djurgårdens Färjetrafik.
The Kastellet ferry, also known as the Vaxholmen ferry, is a passenger cable ferry in Sweden's Stockholm archipelago. It connects the town of Vaxholm to Vaxholm Castle, situated on an islet in the middle of the Kodjupet strait between the town and the island of Rindö. At its town terminus, the ferry berths next to the quay used by the Waxholmsbolaget passenger ferries that link Vaxholm to central Stockholm and many other islands of the archipelago.
The Katarina is a floating restaurant, and former steam ship, that was built in 1869 at Stockholm in Sweden. Sailing under her original name of Fredriksborg on the route through the Stockholm archipelago from Stockholm to Vaxholm, she was the Waxholmsbolaget's first propeller-driven steam ship. After being sold by the Waxholmsbolaget in 1882, she operated in various roles under the names Höganäs, Mariehamn, Stella, Wirumaa, Kullervo and André before acquiring her current name in 1985. Today she is a floating restaurant moored in the Aura river in Turku, Finland.
Östanå is a ferry port in the municipality of Österåker in the Swedish county of Stockholm. It is the mainland terminal of the Ljusteröleden vehicle ferry route to the island of Ljusterö, operated by Trafikverket, and is also a calling point for the passenger ferries of the Waxholmbolaget on its routes from the city of Stockholm to the northern part of the Stockholm archipelago.
Bålsta is a railway station located in Bålsta in Håbo municipality, Uppsala County, Sweden. It is located 45.3 km from Stockholm Central Station on the Mälaren Line. The station serves long-distance and regional SJ trains, and is also the north-west terminus for Stockholm's commuter trains, despite being located just outside of Stockholm County.

Rindö is an island in the central area of Sweden's Stockholm Archipelago, some 21 kilometres (13 mi) north-east of the city of Stockholm. From an administrative perspective, it is located in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County. The island is about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) long and 1.2 kilometres (0.75 mi) wide and has an area of 4.46 square kilometres (1.72 sq mi). There are two localities on the island, Rindö and Rindöby.
Kodjupet is a strait in Sweden's Stockholm Archipelago. Along with the Oxdjupet strait, it is one of two shipping routes connecting the open sea to the city of Stockholm, passing either side of the island of Rindö. Today the Kodjupet is suitable only for smaller vessels, due to its narrow and twisting nature together with a minimum water depth of 3.3 metres (11 ft), but it was formerly the principal route for commercial and naval ships. It passes close offshore of the town of Vaxholm.
Skarpö is an island in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. It is situated in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County. The southern and western half of the island comprises the Skarpö urban area.
Karlsudd is a settlement in Vaxholm Municipality, Stockholm County, Sweden. It is located at the south-eastern tip of the Bogesundslandet peninsula, but is not within the Bogesundslandet nature reserve that occupies most of that peninsular. It is also the only significant settlement within the Vaxholm Municipality that is on the Swedish mainland, rather than on islands of the Stockholm archipelago.
Hästholmen is an island in the Stockholm archipelago in Sweden. Skogsön island lies to its north-west, Tynningö island to its south-west, and the Oxdjupet strait to its east. Administratively, it is in Vaxholm Municipality and Stockholm County.
