The UCI Cycling Esports World Championships is a world championships for online bicycle road racing organized by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). The first edition was held on 9 December 2020, featuring a men's and women's event over a virtual 50 kilometer route with 483 meters of simulated elevation gain on the Zwift platform. [1] The event featured strict anti-cheating protocols as well as 11 power ups that competitors could use during the race. [2]
The 2022 UCI Cycling Esports World Championships took place on February 26, 2022, once again on Zwift. [3] WTRL hosted several open Continental pre-qualifiers during November 2021 where the best were invited to join the invite only Continental Qualifiers. [4]

Ashleigh Moolman Pasio is a South African professional road bicycle racer, who rides for UCI Women's Continental Team AG Insurance–Soudal–Quick-Step. She competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the Women's road race, finishing 16th and in the Women's time trial finishing 24th.
Juraj Sagan is a Slovak former professional road bicycle racer, who competed as a professional from 2010 to 2022, for the Cannondale, Tinkoff, Bora–Hansgrohe and Team TotalEnergies teams. During his professional career, Sagan took four victories – all of which were at the Slovak National Road Race Championships, in 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2020.
Lotta Pauliina Henttala is a Finnish racing cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team AG Insurance–Soudal–Quick-Step. She has won the Finnish National Road Race Championships seven times, consecutively between 2012 and 2018.
Chloe Fraser is a British professional racing cyclist from Scotland, who currently rides for UCI Women's Continental Team Emotional.fr–Tornatech–GSC Blagnac. From Dingwall, Fraser was the winner of the road race, at the 2015 Scottish Road Championships.

Matteo Dal-Cin is a Canadian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team Toronto Hustle.
Jason Osborne is a German former rower and current professional road cyclist, who currently rides for UCI WorldTeam Alpecin–Deceuninck. He won silver as part of the German team in the lightweight men's quadruple sculls at the 2013 World Rowing Championships in Chungju, Korea. He has also won medals in a number of competitions in the World Rowing Cup and European Championships. He competed in the men's lightweight double sculls event at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Moritz Malcharek is a German road and track cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Continental team Maloja Pushbikers. Representing Germany at international competitions, Malcharek competed at the 2016 UEC European Track Championships in the scratch event.
