Maria Ligaya Carmen Imutan Salonga,, is a Filipina singer and actress, best known for her roles in musical theatre, for supplying the singing voices of two Disney Princesses, and as a recording artist and television performer.

The University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Overall Championship is awarded to the school with the highest point total in the different UAAP events. It was first awarded in UAAP Season 10. Member universities currently compete in fifteen sports to vie for the overall championship, namely, badminton, baseball, basketball, beach volleyball, chess, fencing, football, judo, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis, track and field, and volleyball.

<i>The Varsitarian</i>

The Varsitarian is the official student publication of the University of Santo Tomas (UST). Founded in January 1928 by a group of students led by Jose Villa Panganiban, it is one of the first student newspapers in the Philippines. It is published fortnightly. The lampoon issue is called The Vuisitarian. Tomas U. Santos, the mascot of the Varsitarian, is a Thomasian who represents the students of the campus. He is usually seen accompanied by a talking, and quite cynical, T-square.

Traditions of the University of Santo Tomas

The University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines marks a variety of traditions largely influenced by the Filipino Dominican culture. Many are annual events, such as religious assemblies marking the start and end of the academic year, a "welcome walk" for new students, as well as intercollege sport competitions and talent exhibitions. Christmas is celebrated in a month-long festivities culminated by the UST Paskuhan. Many Roman Catholic feast days are also celebrated.

Alden Richards Filipino actor, model, presenter, businessman, and recording artist

Richard Reyes Faulkerson Jr., popularly known by his stage name Alden Richards, is a Filipino actor, TV host, product endorser, businessman, and recording artist. Richards is dubbed as the Asia's Multimedia Star after winning the 2019 Seoul International Drama Award, Asian Star Prize award equivalent to best acting award, held in South Korea. His notable works include Tween Hearts, One True Love, Carmela, The Road, Imagine You and Me, Victor Magtanggol, Hello, Love, Goodbye and The Gift. He is also known for his role as Lakan in the reboot series of Encantadia. During the 29th PMPC Star Awards for Television in 2015, Richards won his first Best Actor award for his portrayal of José Rizal in Ilustrado.

The UST Growling Tigers men's basketball is the intercollegiate men's basketball program of the University of Santo Tomas. The Growling Tigers have won 19 men's basketball titles including one National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) championship. It is one of the winningest teams in University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) men's basketball with 18 titles, just behind the FEU Tamaraws and tied with the UE Red Warriors. The Growling Tigers also participate in Millennium Basketball League Invitational. As of January 11, 2018, the team's head coach is Aldin Ayo.

University of Santo Tomas Field

The University of Santo Tomas Athletic Field and Open Spaces, located at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, is a National Cultural Treasure as declared by the National Museum of the Philippines.

University of Santo Tomas Central Seminary Building Church in Philippines

The University of Santo Tomas Central Seminary Building currently houses the Santísimo Rosario Parish, the Central Seminary, and the Faculties of Ecclesiastical Studies of the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas in Manila. The Parish was canonically inaugurated on April 26, 1942 by Michael J. O'Doherty, the Archbishop of Manila. In January 25 2010, the National Museum of the Philippines formally declared the Central Seminary Building as a National Cultural Treasure.

Pinggot Zulueta is a Filipino visual artist and photojournalist. In 1982, he attained his Fine Arts degree Major in Painting from the University of Santo Tomas. He further studied at the UP College of Fine Arts as well as Advanced Course on News Photography and Pictorial Layout conducted by the International Institute of Journalism, Berlin held in Manila in 1996. While at UST, he served as Staff Artist of the university's official student publication, The Varsitarian. Later, he worked as a Political Cartoonist at Midweek magazine and later at Abante. Since 1983, he had joined fellow artists in group exhibitions in art galleries in Manila, New Zealand and Australia. Mr. Zulueta is currently a Lifestyle Photographer in the Philippines’ leading national newspaper; Manila Bulletin.

The UST Neo-Centennial Celebration is a week-long anniversary of the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines that commemorated the closing of the UST Quadricentennial Celebration.

UST Paskuhan

The Paskuhan is the culmination of the university wide Christmas activities of the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines. The annual tradition started in 1991. The programs of Paskuhan were held during the last week or last day before the Christmas break of the university. In 2014, however, because of the change in the academic calendar of the university, it was scheduled in the Feast of the Immaculate Conception on December 8, 2014. It was later rescheduled to December 11, 2014 because of Typhoon Ruby.

Newport Performing Arts Theater

The Newport Performing Arts Theater (NPAT), also known as simply Newport Theater, is a performing arts center on the grounds of Resorts World Manila in Pasay, Metro Manila, the Philippines. It is a modern multi-purpose theater named after its location in the Newport Mall and entertainment complex connected to the integrated resort in the 25-hectare (62-acre) Newport City township. The 1,500-seat facility opened in 2010 and holds the widest stage in the Philippines. It is one of the three major performing arts venues in Metro Manila that plays host to both touring and locally-produced musicals, live stage shows, concerts, and regular televised events such as awards ceremonies and pageants.

Sandra Aguinaldo is a Filipina television news anchor journalist, writer and documentarian. She is best known as one of the news reporters of 24 Oras and one of the hosts of I-Witness. In 2015, Aguinaldo together with her co-hosts in I-Witness won as the Best Documentary Program Hosts during the 29th PMPC Star Awards for Television.

UP–UST rivalry

The UP–UST rivalry is a team rivalry between the athletic teams of the University of the Philippines (UP) and the University of Santo Tomas (UST) in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP).
